    2015 New Mexico Football preview

    in Sports

New Mexico football is our team preview this week with Jeremy and Chris. Is this the year that the Lobos get over the hump and make it to a bowl game under Bob Davie? Also, the offense is looking to be more scarier than last year with the addition of the hurry up, no huddle attack to go along with their run attack. More passing should be done as well in 2015.

Defense is the key area where New Mexico needs to improve to become bowl eligible.

Saturday Morning Cereal - The Robot Chicken Encore

    in Pop Culture

Take some time this week to remember your original happy hour: Saturday mornings as a kid, waking up at dawn, jumping on the couch with a bowl of chocolate cereal, turning on the ‘toons, tuning out the outside world, and working your way into a sugar hangover before noon. With summer upon us we figured why not revisit our Robot Chicken Holiday Special show from back in December and ask the important questions about Adult Swim's iconic show Robot Chicken - what does it mean to us grown up kids? Is the art of playing GI Joe for a living difficult? Is a Holiday special the same as a Christmas special? Grim Shea chats with co-creator Matthew Senreich and Emmy-winning director/writer Zeb Wells about all this and more, so hurry on over to this side of the road in order to join us! Hosted by Grim Shea and Mark E. Follow us on Twitter @stayclassysdcc and check out the site for links, archived episodes, nerdy news and more -- such as this contest-finalist gem right here!

The Late Late Shift with Steven - Episode 22 (The Listener Q&A Edition)

    in Entertainment

How cool would it be to be Spider-Man? To do whatever a spider can? I wonder how literal that is? I mean, is dude ever trying to squeeze out a deuce and suddenly coat his toilet bowl with gross ass webbing? Would webbing clog up one's toilet? How the hell would you explain that to a plumber?

This episode will not be about the potential perils of pooping as Spider-Man. It very well may be about the hidden subculture of superhero plumbers, though.

Probably not. No telling what it'll be about, to be honest. That's what makes it fun. I hope you'll join me.

32 For 32: Kansas City Chiefs

    in Sports

The Kansas City Chiefs were yet another strange team in 2014, going from 0-2 to 7-3, then laying an egg to Oakland (even though they scored 20 points) & ultimately falling out of the AFC playoff picture. But the big story was safety Eric Berry's health. After that loss to the Raiders, he received an X-ray which revealed a mass in his chest believed to be lymphoma. He was placed on the non-football illness list, ending his season. A month later, Berry was confirmed to have Hodgskin's lymphoma. He has begun treatment & many of us are wishing him a strong recovery. My prayers have been & will be w/ him during this time. The Chiefs have made some moves during the off-season, bringing in free agents such as wide receiver Jeremy Maclin (reuniting w/ Jason Avant from Philadelphia) & safety Tyvon Branch. The pressure continues to be on head coach Andy Reid. He's been expected to make a Super Bowl run w/ this team & that hasn't happened. & he has yet to win a Super Bowl, pinning him on the list of one of the greatest coaches in league history to not accomplish the feat. Some fans have started to lost patience. Something's gotta give, right? I hope for the sake of Reid that this team finally turns to corner in 2015. It's been a long time coming since the franchise's last Super Bowl triumph (Super Bowl III), but Arrowhead remains one of the toughest places to play of opponents & as long as you have great fans supporting your team, you'll always have a shot to accomplish wins, divison titles, & maybe even a Lombardi trophy. This team still has work to do, but it looks like they're heading in the right direction. How far can & will they go? We'll discuss that as well as Eric Berry in our next installment of "The Rocket Sports Breakdown" Friday evening @ 6:30pm on Blog Talk Radio. Rocket Nation, get ready for a power trip.
