Join me tonight as I talk with Adam McLane about his article, "Why You Should Delete SnapChat", a very important article for everyone to read .... young and old alike .... because it helps to explain how things you put on the internet STAYS ON THE INTERNET (sort of like WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS .... ).
A lifelong youth worker, Adam McLane is a Partner at The Youth Cartel and Principal at McLane Creative. He is a purveyor, connoisseur, trader, and collector of ideas.
Adam is a husband, father and a published writer whose work I came across when my cousin, Sonya, posted his article, "Why You Should Delete SnapChat", which you can find here.

In a generation of fleeting messages and drive by hellos, social media and phone apps are starting to replace some forms of intimacy and face time (no not the Apple product). In a span of a few years, millennials went from texting to sexting, late night creeping with a sexy trench coat on to an iPhone app called Snapchat. It’s as if convenience has replaced imagination. A note on your doorstep with the scent of Burberry perfume that you have to mail or a half naked picture that you can roll over and view in your bed…most of us have been there. The dichotomy is unreal so I’m choosing to go a little bit deeper. Pun intended. Join me as my guests break down their Intima-Tude (intimacy views) and the evolution of what I call pseudo-intimacy. Are you a sexter or a late night creeper?

With all the social media sites that our youth are on these days there are MANY ways that youth can now become aggressive toward each other. With Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Google+, Glide, SnapChat and so much more as parents we have to monitor ALL of these things, learn how to use them and learn how our children are using them!
Electronic aggression or cyber-bullying has become much more prevelant these days. Youth make fake accounts and say horrible things to people they know and people they don't know. They find that hiding behind a computer screen means they have less consiquences and that no one may find out who they are.
We will talk about what to do if you see cyber-bullying, signs to look for in your children and what to do if you think your child is cyber-bullying others.
