Brittany Trinite from Austin TX sent this in: I have been a musician for most of my life and have always wanted to sing to give back in some way, but wasn’t sure how for many years. Last year, I discovered how to bring the idea of a concert to benefit a great cause to life. When I was in middle school, I discovered music is used to entertain and as a wonderful creative outlet, but can also act as medicine to heal and is being studied and researched to support these ideas, in music therapy. I reached out to the music community of Austin to help me in producing “Healing Sounds”, what would be the first concert benefiting the Research fund of the American Music Therapy Association.
The musicians all chose pieces that they found to be healing, either personally or to others in all kinds of ways from enjoying the sounds to the words and the feelings that surfaced. “Healing Sounds” brought together friends and musicians that knew each other as well as those who had not met yet! The music healed in the experience itself and raised awareness and $207 for AMTA’s research fund. This year’s concert, “Music Smiles” will feature pieces that, you guessed it, make people smile! The musicians are choosing their own individual or collaborative pieces to perform for the show on January 10, 2015 at 7pm at the chapel of First United Methodist Church, 1201 Lavaca, Austin, TX. Tickets are $10 each with a military and student discount of $7, but more donations are welcome! All proceeds benefit the Research fund of the American Music Therapy Association.
Brittany will by my guest on this show to talk about the concert, how you can attend, and how you can donate to music therapy research!

With the crowd of people who halfheartedly attempt to pursue a career in the Hip-Hop industry it is often difficult to tell the imposters from the real thing. But in spite of the uncertainty there is one real artist who in a single year made moves in the industry like no other. Andrew Gardner or as his adoring fans would call him, Smiles Official, is a young and talented aspiring artist who uses witty wordplay and clever rhetoric to write the music that has all the ladies of South Florida going crazy.
Official was born at Jackson Memorial Hospital, on August 11, 1989 to parents Boyd and Marie Gardner. Embracing his rich Jamaican background, Official has always been a lover of both music and food with lots of soul. In junction with his deeply embedded cultural roots, Smiles also accredits a large part of his success today to the city that raised him, Cutler Ridge. Not only was he able to launch his rap career in Cutler Ridge but he was also recognized by his city for being a force on the football field and a bullet on the track. Ripe with raw talent, Smiles Official embodied all that is carpe diem, and he has been seizing every moment since…you already know Smiles Official is as real as they come.

Dating all the way back to the early days of motorcycling, enthusiasts have always been drawn to the raw energy, speed and horsepower of racing. Throughout the first couple decades of the 1900’s, motorcycle racing was held on oval plank tracks, known as board tracks. The motorcycles which ran on these tracks were the ultimate in stripped-down powerhouses, with no brakes, and only a direct drive system in place of a transmission. Races were held all over the United States to the delight of crowds everywhere. Unfortunately, the danger of these races was all too real. After multiple horrific accidents resulting in the death of riders and spectators alike, board track racing was banned in the United States. While the machines survived, the sport of board tracking was seemingly gone forever; that is, until recently, when a group of enthusiasts have banned together to reinvigorate the lost art of board track racing. Held on dirt tracks instead of lumber ovals, the machines are still flying around in a display of raw power to the delighted smiles of crowds. This week, we at Classic Chrome have the pleasure of speaking with a few of the brave individuals keeping this high-octane sport alive and well. Interviewing Matt Walksler, noted builder, restorer, and award-winning racer, and Brittney Olsen, noted restorer and the only woman successfully competing in this dangerous sport!
How often do we stop to reflect on some of the moments that has put the biggest smiles on our faces? I'm talking about those times we would consider a "Kodak Moment". Those are the precious memories we hardly ever get to enjoy. Why is this? Maybe because we are too busy suffering from the memories we should have let go. Many of us hold on to painful memories because we continue to associate it with our present day obstacles. Therefore, causing us to relive the same feelings and emotions over and over again. The word of GOD tells us that in this life we will have trouble but it also tells us not to worry because HE has overcome the world. Now that is definitely what i would call a Kodak Moment".
"Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things'. (PHILLIPIANS 4:8)
