This week we meet Diane Jones from Guardian Angels Cat Rescue and Peaches the Cat.
Guardian Angels Cat Rescue & Adoption Shelter is an all volunteer organization operating a no kill facility for homeless felines. The Shelter operates with an upper limit of 136 resident felines onsite, and some in the care of foster homes depending upon the season. All cats that enter the Shelter are assessed by a veterinarian and once tested and cleared for Feline Leukemia and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus or other diseases are available for adoption.
Peaches the Wonder Cat was born in July 2013 and was dumped at a kill shelter when she was only 4 weeks old. It was soon discovered that she was dying from a diaphragmatic hernia....probably from being thrown or kicked... Luckily a wonderful vet was able to do emergency surgery and she survived, despite the odds, and made a full recovery. Her growth, however, was stunted because she was unable to absorb nutrients in the first few months of her life so she is very tiny.
Join us to learn more about our guests and the joy and love cats bring to the world.
On this special broadcast, our guests are Robert Misseri, President of Guardians of Rescue, and animl activist Terry Hamm.
Guardians of Rescue is a national organization based in New York which fights to protect and save dogs and cats who cannot protect themselves and was involved in two very public cases: Olympic Animal Sanctuary and the "Dogs in the Box".
Terry Hamm is a long time activist and has been involved in the Dogs in the Box case since it's very beginning, and is still fighting for justice for these dogs.
You will learn more about Guardians and the work they do, their role in the Dogs in the Box case, and why Terry feels the best interest of these dogs is still not being met.

Puma has quite the story. Many years ago, Puma and her 12 other Pit Bull friends were apart of a police standoff. You see her owner at the time was on drugs and he got into a shoot out with the police and held himself, his girlfriend and his dogs hostage inside their house. After many hours and a promise by the police that they would make sure his dogs were taken care of (despite Puma's owner's problems, he LOVED his dogs), the owner gave up. Puma and her doggie friends were split up among various rescue groups. Sadly Puma has a major case of PTSD from all the gunshots that were fired that day and when there is a loud noise or bang, she runs and hides.
For over ten years Puma was in the care of Villalobos Rescue, the shelter featured on Animal Planets Pit Bulls and Parolees. Then Jackie Drake came into Puma's life and together their lives would change forever.
"I was told before my first morning of volunteering at Villalobos that Puma was easily stressed and that I had to be gentle when walking her. I’ve walked many dogs that were previously abused or unsure but this was different. Any kind of loud or sudden movement/noise would send her completely over the edge. I had also been informed that she would panic herself so much that she would sometimes pass out. When Puma’s leash was handed to me every morning I made it my priority to make sure she felt safe no matter what. By doing this for Puma, she gained a huge trust with me and I knew that leaving her behind in New Orleans was not an option. She was my exception."
Jackie will be with us to talk more about Puma's story and how she is currently doing. Phone lines will be open during the show.

Join us for a special Rescue Radio Show tonight! The Battle for Jerusalem - Heavenly and Earthly. We will look at the history and shadowy sides of this sought after city, and the imitation/counterfeit move of Satan to mimic the move of God on earth.
"Because There Is A War For Your Soul" Nothing boring or too political or super spiritual. Just probably some of the most radical and useful information you will find on radio. Join us live Tuesdays 7-9pm CST or catch us on the run.
It's time to talk straight about the war between God and Satan that is going on in our souls. And though the battle is the Lord's and has already been won, the Enemy still seems to have a lot to say that has left too many of us doubtful and confused about what is going on and what can be done about it. It is time to talk back and tell it like it is! Hosted by Marjorie Cole, founder of Life Recovery, Inc., and author of"Taking the Devil to Court" with Jarry Cole, Pastor of True Light Church as the featured guest pastor and roving co-host.

It make shock people to know that Beagles are used as lab testing animals by companies across the country because of their calm personalities and eagerness to please. Medical and research labs buy the beagles with the blessing of the USDA straight from puppy mill breeders. These dogs go straight from one hell to another to live out their lives in a wire cage.
Beagle Freedom Project began in December 2010 when Shannon Keith received information that beagles who were used for animal experiments in a research lab were to be given a chance at freedom. Our mission is rescuing and finding homes for beagles used in laboratory research.
Beagles are the most popular breed for lab use because of their friendly, docile, trusting, forgiving, people-pleasing personalities. The research industry says they adapt well to living in a cage, and are inexpensive to feed. Research beagles are usually obtained directly from commercial breeders who specifically breed dogs to sell to scientific institutions.
Testing done on beagles in university and other research facilities includes medical/pharmaceutical, household products and cosmetics. When they are no longer wanted for research purposes, some labs attempt to find homes for adoptable, healthy beagles. Working directly with these labs, Beagle Freedom Project is able to remove and transport beagles to place them in loving homes.
Shannon is the president and founder of Beagle Freedom Project. Shannon is also an animal rights attorney and international speaker on animal rights issues. She will share with us her recent dramatic rescues and will be taking your questions.
Also joining us is dog trainer Colleen Demling to talk about training needs of rescue dogs, and Sarah Hoddinott of Lab Rescue of the LRCP
