    Laura Sullivan: 900 Voices

    in Entertainment

GRAMMY® winning composer, Laura Sullivan, called out to the world to join her in a powerful plan to make a music video. Her request was simple.  Take a video of yourself singing her song “900 Voices” and send it to her.  The response was overwhelming.

938 people from Australia, Brazil, Israel, Croatia, Korea, Kenya, India, and many other countries, participated by making videos on their cell phones and sending them to Laura.

The result is epic.  27 languages included in one song and video about love and unity.  The video was released in April and is titled “900 Voices.”

SPECIAL GUEST - ROCK SINGER-SONGWRITER DANIEL TRIGGER

    in Entertainment

Daniel Trigger is an experienced hard rock artist from the Midlands UK, who presents a new  album of original work called "Army Of One". Combining crushing guitar riffs with anthemic choruses, Army Of One has a muscular heavy rock sound that displays influences such as Alter Bridge, Guns N Roses and a modern-day Europe.

It was in fact Europe that kick-started Daniel's music career in 1989, where "The Final   Countdown" was played  during a laser light show at the London Planetarium which a young Daniel attended. Immediately deciding he wanted to make music that sounded "like that", Daniel formed his first band at the age of 15, and stepped up to the microphone for the first time.

There's so much more to Daniel's story so listen to Take 2 Radio Music on Wednesday, August 26th at 3pm eastern time!

  • RIR RADIO GUEST - Stacey Hampton (Singer/Songwriter)

    in Music

Interview with Singer/Songwriter -  Stacey Hampton is a female solo artist basing most of her music in folk rock with a touch of country, a hint of bluegrass and a sprinkle of funk.

I was born in Downey, California but raised in Kansas City. I started playing music at a young age until I was introduced to athletics. I sought after a soccer career and even made it to the level of playing semi-pro. I picked up the guitar my sophomore year of college and also began to write a lot of poetry at the time. Suddenly I found myself wanting to combine the two. I have been playing and writing music for about 18 years now, and want to share it with the world!

    THIS WEEK’S MESSAGE:

Western music is not to be confused with Country music. Western music is a form of American folk music composed by and about the people who settled and worked throughout the Western United States and Western Canada. The Mexican folk music of the American Southwest also influenced the development of this genre.  With the Traditional Western being a genre of various arts, such as comics, fiction, film, games, radio, television and music, getting "westerns" published and in the hands of fans can also be confusing and a challenge to understand. Tonight we learn about today's contemporary western music and about how today's publishing experts get the western genre to market.

  • Welcome K.tothe.A.Y. To The N'Tuned Show

    in Music

K.tothe.A.Y. is an eclectic East Coast artist whose sound embraces a wide range of elements, from the tight edge of Hip-Hop, to the smooth grooves of RnB and the vibes of reggae / dub. Originally from Brooklyn, New York, it’s easy to see that K.tothe.A.Y. refuses to get stuck in a box when it comes to the possibilities of his song-writing.

When it comes to hip-hop and RnB, the music scene is absolutely saturated. Music magazines and record labels literally have to dig, every hour, between countless demo and promo emails, to find something truly unique and remarkable. In this day and age, anyone could just get any DAW software (digital audio workstation, an entire recording studio in your laptop) and virtually produce a great sounding backing track, or even a solid vocal performance from the comfort of their bedroom or garage. Some argue that recording technology has been “democratized”, and in a sense, it is true. This is a highly competitive industry and it takes real talent and focus to climb the ranks.

So many artists have the possibility to create and express themselves at only a fraction of the cost they would have needed to spend just about a decade ago or so. This is great, but like any revolution, it has its downsides. More recordings do not necessarily mean more quality, more care, and more talent. The truth, in most cases, is that unfortunately the majority of the new tracks that are produced this way are just “obstacles”, keeping media and labels away from true gems.
