This week on Travel Today with Peter Greenberg we travel to the island country of Singapore. On this episode, Peter French, President of Raffles Hotel Singapore, tells us about “the great and the good” who have stayed at Raffles, and how these people were intimately involved with the local community.
It exists at the threshold of history, a natural shipping hub and the meeting point of worldwide sea routes. Singapore is truly a melting pot of Asia, and it could easily be argued that the word fusion — if not invented here — is displayed better in Singapore than most other places around the globe.
Here, at the tip of the Malay Peninsula, is where you’ll find fusion food (like foie gras man tou—French-prepared duck liver tucked into a steamed Chinese bun) and fusion languages (Singlish—a form of English you won’t find anywhere else). And that’s also where you’ll find Peter Greenberg Worldwide as we broadcast from the legendary Raffles Hotel Singapore. It’s a place that truly defines the old Singapore.
The hotel was immortalized by Rudyard Kipling, Somerset Maugham, and Ernest Hemingway, and their legends live on here. We’ll tell some of those stories, and much much more.

There were a few surprises on the track during practice at the Singapore Airlines Formula One Grand Prix in Singapore. A surprise showing by the Ferrari team gave fans a reason to sit up and take notice. At the end of the first practice session, the fastest man on the track was Fernando Alonso. MercedesAMG driver, Lewis Hamilton, was second fastest, followed by his teammate, Nico Rosberg.
Four-time champion Red Bull Sebastian Vettel seems to be improving and had the fourth fastest car. Lotus driver Pastor Maldonado did not disappoint when he ended his practice session, after hitting the side of the wall at a turn known as, ‘the Singapore Sling’. Rosberg had to cut short his second lap, when Maldonado hit the wall. Prior to Maldonado’s crash, Rosberg was fastest on the track, so Hamilton must not under-estimate him at qualifying. By the end of practice 2, fastest on the track was Hamilton, Alonso, Daniel Ricciardo, Kimi Raikkonen then Sebastian Vettel.

Jason Jones is a married father of 2 girls and the Founder of DaddyUp. DaddyUp is the idea that in order for our children to become great, we as Men and Fathers must reach our ZENITH in order to lead them into LIFE.
How can we expect our daughters to know what a Real Man is without showing them what one looks like? How can we expect our sons to be better than us without showing them the blueprint of becoming a man? How can we expect GREATNESS from our children without becoming GREAT ourselves?
There was a preiod when being a DEADBEAT DAD was the norm. When doing the bare minimum to raise your child was expected. A time when we as MEN dropped the ball and put too much responsibility on Mothers to be Fathers. The goal of DaddyUp is to get us back to a place where being a FATHER is the #1 responsibility. A place where we as Fathers realize that it's no longer about us and make every effort to LIVE FOR OUR KIDS and STRIVE TO BE BETTER.

Singapore's Harvest City Church recently made international news as it's leadership team including the pastor was found guilty of corruption. This is a result of the ambition of Pastor Kong Hee's wife musical aspirations. It took the loss of nearly 50 million dollars between 2007-2008 to help her become the next Asian pop star. Every church gets special exemptions to carry out the gospel message, however many of their leadership take advantage of this by purchasing homes, cars, and other extravangant things. What should be done when churches overstep the boundaries of their gospel mission and tax exemption status. Should more accountablility be demanded from members regarding how church funds are appropiated? Join Pastor Neal for this and other lively topics on Zera Today.
