MAN TALK: Marriage - The Man, The Myth & His Identity

    in Relationships

Calling all men. You are invited to join me on Monday, June 1st @ 9pm ET as I welcome Pastor John K. Jenkins, Sr. to The Real Talk with Chris Richardson Show. Help me SPREAD the WORD. This is a special MAN TALK segment for MEN ONLY. Ladies are encouraged to LISTEN.

Topic: Marriage - The Man, The Myth and His Identity

Featured Guest: Pastor John K. Jenkins, Sr.

Pastor John K. Jenkins Sr. has been preaching the Good News since he was licensed as a minister at 15 years old. From an early age, he developed a love for the Lord and felt a call to share the gospel of Jesus Christ.

His pastoral journey began in February 1987 when he was called to serve as the senior pastor at Union Bethel Church in King George, Va. Nearly three years of pastoring at Union Bethel proved to be the training ground for his upcoming assignment. In October of 1988, Pastor Jenkins learned of the passing of his pastor and mentor, Dr. John W. Johnson, from his home church at the First Baptist Church of Glenarden.

One year after Dr. Johnson's passing, Pastor Jenkins returned to First Baptist to become the seventh shepherd. The fruit of his biblically based teaching is evidenced in the growth of church membership from 500 to more than 10,000. Today, an average 11,000 people attend weekly Sunday services between two campuses located in Landover and Upper Marlboro, Md.

Even with his many obligations, Pastor Jenkins holds his role as family man as the highest treasure. He and his wife are the proud parents of six children and one granddaughter.

Coaches Corner with Geri Fallo - Hoboken and the Sinatra Centennial

    in Entertainment

Tonight we're talking with Geraldine (Geri) Fallo, who, as the Administrator of Cultural Affairs for Hoboken, has coordinated a series of "Sounds of Sinatra" weekends each summer to celebrate the life of Hoboken-born Frank Sinatra, including an annual "Sinatra Idol" contest.  For this, the year of the centennial of Sinatra's birth (coming up on December 12th), I thought I'd talk to Geri and find out what makes Sinatra so special to Hoboken and what her role is in making this celebration.  We'll also talk about the various events happening in June and December to celebrate 100 years of Frank Sinatra.

Geri has been organizing events for The City of Hoboken for 21 years, including the annual the Hoboken Spring & Fall Arts & Music Festival, the Summer Enchanted Evening Concert series at Sinatra Park, Movies Under the Stars at Pier A Park, Artists Studio Tour, Sinatra Idol Contest, Ragamuffin Parade, Harvest & Irish Festivals, the Holiday Craft Fair & much more.

Magical Experiments: Health, Spirituality, and Magic

    in Spirituality

Join Taylor Ellwood of Magical Experiments as he interviews Tara Miller, Editor of Rooted in the Body, Seeking the Soul about health and spirituality and the editor of the Staff of Asclepius blog, the role of health in magical work, and how magic can be used to work with health.

The Staff of Asclepius is for Pagans with mental, physical or sensory impairments; who are in recovery from major injuries or addiction; and/or who are members of the Deaf or Blind community. It’s a place to share how a spiritual and magical life gives us strength or peace through all of life’s joys and struggles. There are also news updates and interviews with Pagans and experts on various topics affecting the community.

One purpose of the anthology is to help people find comfort in the fact that they are not alone. Some of the authors turned to a magical practice as a way to find healing and the anthology includes rituals and stories about healing. Covens, circles, temples or any other type of magical group can use it as a resource toward understanding members or potential members with disabilities. There are interviews with professional counselors, such as Drake Spaeth, about assisting Pagans and magic practitioners that's useful to anyone in the medical profession.
