Tennis Legend Zina Garrison: Dr. Jamie Williams on Race, Culture and Sports!

    in Sports

When we look at sports headlines many of think the final scores are primarily based on the physical dominance and superiority of the winners. That’s true in theory and clearly in part, but to really win at a high level consistency requires a certain state of mind and focus. I like to call it mental toughness and awareness and that all starts with individuals being good with whom they are. On this week’s show we’re going to look at some of the challenges facing elite athletes on and off the court.

How ‘bout that them Carolina Panthers and Cam Newton? Newton is a great example of how being good with yourself and clear about whom you are translates to success on the field. Why does Cam’s happiness for playing the game he loves offend so many people? We’ll look at that and more. Tennis legend Zina Garrison joins us on today’s show to talk about why it has been so difficult for an American tennis player other than Venus and Serena Williams to win a major championship. The USTA has more players in the top 100 than they’ve had in years, so why can’t they take the next step?

We will also talk about how this challenge in tennis is a challenge in other sports as well. It will be an entertaining and informative hour of sports talk you don’t want to miss!

How 'bout that game Dwight Howard put together in the team's overtime loss to the Clippers? 36 points, 26 rebounds.... throw in four assists a steal and one block and you've got one heck of a game. The last time a Rocket put up those kind of numbers was 1990 when Hakeem Olajuwon had 35 and 27 vs Detroit.  And only five other NBA players have put up those kind of numbers since 1990. Make Your Ideas a Reality - How to Start a Successful Fitness Business

    in Nutrition

FitVine Wine was born when friends and athletes, Zach, Tom and Mark discovered that they could make amazing wines that also fit their healthy lifestyle. Our wines have no residual sugar, higher concentrations of antioxidants and less sulfites. We double filter the wine and cold stabilize it to remove impurities. We perform an extended fermentation of 10-14 days to optimize pH levels so there's no added sugar no additives and less sulfites needed. Too many wines today are loaded with unnecessary sugars, additives, and impurities. Our goal is to bring high quality wines to the active community that they can trust!
