Many people twist scripture for their own wicked purposes, and this chapter is one that has been widely abused. The sincere love that Jonathon and David had for one another was passionate--you can't love someone as your own soul without a depth of passion, which is how God says Jonathon loved David. But the Bible always puts the honest facts about the individuals in the Holy Book. If there had been any homosexual activity between the two, it would say so outright.
I believe the actions of Jonathon and David show that it is possible to have uncommon love, one man toward another, without sinning against God. Our society today attempts to shove young people into homosexual behavior by sending the false message that it's not only okay but it's the hippest thing going. The problem is, of course, that homosexual behaviors are an abomination to God, as it says in Romans 1:18-32 and elsewhere in the Bible
How should YOU deal with injustice committed against you? Throw up your hands and do nothing? Use courts of law? Or take personal revenge because courts of law are corrupt? Here's the bigger question? How do you get God on your side, working FOR you in this, and not AGAINST you? St. Peter, (and there's too many jokes about standing before St. Peter in Heaven) had a few words to say about this. And if anybody knew about injustice, it was he. This Thursday evening we'll talk about that, and here from Peter in his own words. Tune in and take notes! Your host: Rev. Saying "I can't" isn't very popular these days. Everyone needs to have a "can do" kind of attitude. Yet countless times in a lifetime (and a day), we genuinely feel that we can't do whatever it is we are called on to do. With big challenges, truthfully, we can't do it--in our own strength and power. Saying "I can't" is the beginning of finding our "I can." In fact, realizing what we can't do on our own puts us in a position of power. Don't believe me? I'll tell you how it worked for me to find true strength come out of my big weaknesses (and boy are there a lot of those).
This show will discuss "At What Age Should You Stop Having Children?" There are so many people that have children at an early age, because they believe that it is better to have a child in the...ir 20s or 30s. Some people believe that they should be able to enjoy life, and have a child when they are in their 40s. This show will discuss the risks associated with having children at a certain age, and the difference with having a child when you are younger versus when you are older.
