Our final re-watch wrap up podcast, for episodes 8, 9 & 10. Since our podcast series was initiated late-season during season two, we have featured after shows for these episodes already. Thus, much of the content of the episodes may be glossed over to avoid reiterating the same commentary, but we will be discussing some reenacting adventures and future group ventures for BPS.
Gun Control & Historical Racism
As Black Americans we must realize that gun control laws, from a historical perspective, serve one purpose, to keep us vulnerable and more easily oppressed. This is not conjecture or rhetoric, it is easily documented fact.
Join us, Alex Primo and Asha Zuri, Thursday October 8th at 9 PM EST as we explore the way America sought to disarm Melanated individuals across the land as part of a ruthless plot to control, intimidate, and in many cases murder innocent slaves and freed men alike.
Brendan O’Neill of the Guardian notes:
Throughout the 1800's, states passed gun-control laws that were fundamentally racist. So, panicked by the prospect of more black rebellions against white landowners, the North Carolina Supreme Court passed a statute in 1840 that said: “If any free negro, mulatto, or free person of color shall wear or carry about his or her person, or keep in his or her house, any shotgun, musket, rifle, pistol, sword, dagger or bowie-knife… he or she shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and may be indicted therefore.”
In 1941, a judge in Florida’s Supreme Court called the laws into question when he overturned the conviction of a black man for carrying a handgun without a permit. He overturned the conviction, he said, because this law “was passed for the purpose of disarming the negro laborers … and to give the white citizens in sparsely settled areas a better feeling of security. The statute was never intended to be applied to the white population and in practice has never been so applied.”
All of this plus brother Dennis Jefferson will be dropping by with another fantastic episode of Healthy Matters.

QueensMind, Mowfpeace & PrettyPaws
Wolfhours was conceived in the mind of Shontai Ralieck George a poet ,wordsmith, barz spitter master from Brooklyn New York. Though he now resides in the southern states he still has that gritty streetwise intelligence that makes him one of the most intriguing sought after figures within the poetic community.
The wolfhours concept basically presents a way for everyone to tell their story. Everyone no matter what background or lifestyle, profession or trade, religious or non-religious ..everybody has a story to tell. The guy on the corner begging for change to the lawyer in the courtroom pleading his/her case before a judge , they all have stories to tell. You might have been driving home from work when suddenly a car crosses three lanes just to get in an accident with you. By via of said incident you now have something to get off your chest. Well let it off!!!! We call this a vent. Venting is what the wolfhours movement prescribes if you got some stored up energy that needs to be released in the form of words. Written, spoken, even singing there is no one way to vent.
This blog talk radio show will give wordmiths nationwide a platform to showcase their skills in front of a virtual audience. Spoken word is the new hip hop. As and added bonus we will be featuring some of the hottest spoken word artist in the poetic community, given our callers the opportunity to call in, get in que to spit or ask the featured guest a question.
