Fellowship Friday wit Special Guest Pastor Angela Walker

    in Christianity

Through the vision of Pastor Angela Walker, Divine Revelation was formed in February of 2006. Rehearsals were first held at New Beginnings MB Church, on the south side of Chicago. Starting as a youthful aggregation of 7 singers, Divine Revelation was known for their small size, but powerful and anointed sound. Having grown in number, Divine Revelation still remains an energetic, youthful and spirit-filled group.

Angela Walker and Divine Revelation have been blessed to share the stage with many gospel greats including: Walt Whitman & the Soul Children of Chicago, Kim Stratton, the Chicago Mass Choir, Lemmie Battles, Dexter Walker & Zion Movement, Joshua’s Troop, Shirley Murdock, Phil Tarver and a host of others. The ministry has also had the privilege to travel across the country and sing in a variety of venues.

Proper Leadership in the Afrocentric/Conscious Community | Imhotep Fatiu

    in Business

Imhotep Asis Fatiu, affectionately known as Baba Asis to many within Baltimore City, was born Antoin Torain on March 20 1971 to Marie and Connie Torain; the fifth of six children. During his youth, he grew up in the challenging Park Heights Neighborhood on Shirley Avenue where he was introduced to aggression, criminality, and all facets of street survival as early as age six. Contention within the socio-economic repressed neighborhood of Park Heights would engulf him causing young Antoin to engage in a series of acts which kept him in and out of juvenile courts and detention centers and would eventually lead him to being sentenced for 20 years in prison; of which he served 13 years and 9 months, being released in November of 2004. In Imhotep’s words, “I did not have the knowledge, skills or moral and structural support to succeed.”

From his 20 years of incessantly studying African history and culture, politics, psychology, sociology, and world history; Imhotep Fatiu emerged. Imhotep has spent years making amends to his community and ancestors for any wrongs done through his dedicated, unwavering and consistent efforts to teach, organize, empower, and heal the spirits and minds of Black people.  His extensive experiences assessing the urban psyche, community organizing, experiencing the worst of European aggression, and using critical thought inspired Imhotep to develop a system of concepts and behavioral code entitled: UrBan Philosoph

Stop Mandatory Vaccines, August 26, 2015, Episode 1

    in Politics Progressive

Human Rights Demand channel presents Episode 1 of "Stop Mandatory Vaccines" on August 26, 2015. Our special guest is to be Dr. Shirley Moore, who will discuss H.R.15090. Call (347)857.3293 to speak on air.  Mary Neal, the channel director and host, will discuss a medical experiment that was done in the 1970's using Black girls in Fayette County, TN through the U.S. Health Dept. that has never been revealed, as far as I know. The experiments were for a birth control drug, depo provera, that was not released by the FDA until the 1990's. When I read about FDA's approval of birth control shots in 1992, I was shocked, because I have friends who were given the shots as minors some 20 years before. The medical magazine where I read about the "new" birth control said the drug was "tested on women in a third world country." That "country" would be my small hometown in Tennessee, and the "women" were actually children who were administered the shots and monitored like Alabama farmers who were subjected to the Tuskegee Experiments - a syphilis study that happened from the 1930's to the 1970's. Dr. Randy Short may join us, also. Please don't miss the show. It was very hard to schedule.

    Marvelous Monday

    in Politics

Marvelous Monday with Dr. Shirley McKellar and Bishop L.J. Guillory is always the way to start the week!  In 2016 we will make some impoortant decisions about the direction of our country and the lives of American people and families.  It is our civic responsibility to stay informed on the issues, pay close attention to the actions and decisions of our elected officials,  get to know the people who are running for office and educate ourselves and others about the importance of VOTING!  Let's get moving in the right direction for 2016.  Tonight we are talking about the non-stop GOP bandwagon of horrible ideas!  The horrible idea du jour is that we should put an end to birthright citizenship in the United States!  This also happens to be one of the bullet points within the immigration policy position of GOP primary frontrunner, Donald Trump.  Of course, the rest of the GOP candidates have been quick to glom on to the idea and find some way to double down on the extremity of the position. GOP candidates are finding creative ways to make their mark on this racist policy "idea" by adding their own personal touches of heartless, fiscally irresponsible, and ridiculous details.  Iowa conservative talk radio host Jan Mickelson was quick to endorse Trump's policy proposal, and even took it a step further by stating that "illegals" who are unable to "produce their papers" should "become property" of the state and should be "given minimum neccessary provisions" of food and water, "modest tent city living quarters" for housing, and should be "compelled to work" for the state that has "ownership of them."  Rather than repudiating the hateful rhetoric, many GOP candidates responded by giving Jan an interview!
