With A Heart of Thanksgiving. What exactly is Thanksgiving? The Greek word for Thanksgiving is: eucharistia: thankfulness, giving of thanks; gratitude. An attitude of gratitude!
A thankful heart is grateful. A thankful heart is appreciative. A thankful heart looks with a positive view of life. A thankful heart trusts God. A thankful heart honors God. A thankful heart sees God as Holy.
7 Reasons why God wants us to have a heart of Thanksgiving:
1. So your prayers are effective - Phil 4:6-7
2. Because the peace of God will guard your hearts and mind - Phil 4:6-7
3. The God of peace will be with you - Phil 4:8-9
4. This was the example of Jesus and Paul - Phil 4:8-9
5. That you may be innocent, blameless, above reproach and the world will see Jesus in you - Phil 2:14-15
6. That you won’t be judged yourself - James 5:9
7. This is God’s will - 1 Thess 5:18
"There is a fountain filled with blood,
Drawn from Immanuel’s veins,
And sinners plunged beneath that flood
Lose all their guilty stains."
The words to the above hymn hold such a powerful truth. There's NOTHING but the blood of Jesus to take away our sins. The blood of Jesus washes us and cleanseth us from all our sins, from all its consequentces and from all guilt. 1 John 1:7, "But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sin."
The new covenant of atonement for sins that God designed between Him and man was a better covenant. The old covenant of the blood sacrifice of animals and birds COVERED the sins of the people. The new covenant of the precious blood of God's only Son, who lived a perfect sinless life -- CLEANSES us and WASHES AWAY COMPLETELY our sins and gives us eternal redemption.
Hebrews 9:12-14 "Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption. For if the blood of bulls and goats and the ashes of a heifer, sprinkling the unclean, sanctifies for the purifying of the flesh, how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?"
Jesus placed everyone’s sin upon Himself and became the ultimate sacrifice for the remission of all mankind’s sin. What can wash away our sin? Nothing BUT the blood of Jesus!!!
Healing is for TODAY and God wants everyone healed. There has been a false belief that God puts sickness on people or wants to teach them something through sickness. That is not the truth. That is a lie. God is a good God and is good to His kids. We live in a fallen realm on earth and bad things can happen and sickness can come. But God made a way so that everyone could receive their salvation by faith in what Jesus did for them on the cross -- and that includes your physical healing, your emotional healing and your spiritual healing.
Jesus paid the price for our healing and that covers every kind of sickness and every kind of disease. The Bible tells us that God never changes and Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. God is no respector of persons. What God has done for one, He will do for YOU and anyone!! God loves you so much. Reach out by faith and receive your healing--TODAY!
When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed ALL who were sick,
Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing EVERY sickness and EVERY disease among the people.
Christmas is a time to celebrate the birth of Jesus. God sent His only Son, Jesus, who was supernaturally conceived by the Holy Spirit to be born to the virgin Mary. The Father God transferred the life of Jesus from heaven to the womb of Mary by means of Holy Spirit. This child, Jesus, was prophesied to be King of the Jews and to be the Savior of all mankind. Isaiah 7:14 “Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel." God surrounded this miraculous event with many angelic visitations and supernatural dreams so that the birth of Jesus could be fulfilled.
Let's celebrate this blessed event of the birth of Jesus and worship Him as our Lord and King!! "For today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord."
What lesson can we learn from the woman with the issue of blood spoken about in Mark 5:25-34? When we're believing by faith for an answer to our prayers, we should:
- SEE IT
- BELIEVE IT
- SPEAK IT
- ACT ON IT
“SEE” the answer. SEE it with our spiritual eyes. We are to SEE the picture in our thoughts, in our imagination. We form and create the new image in our mind.
We are going to believe the answer that we “see”. We are going to expect the answer to come as we have seen. We're going to reach for it with our spiritual arms and grab hold of it.
We are going to speak the answer. We are going to declare and decree those things that are not as though they are. We're going to call those things from spiritual realm into the natural realm.
ACT ON IT
We are going to step out in faith because faith without action or works is dead. We will act on it, We will act on the new picture, the new situation, the new belief as if it’s already happened and as if it is the only true reality.
After Jesus rose from the dead and before he ascended into heaven, He gave the disciples one last important directive: ...."not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, “which,” He said, “you have heard from Me; for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.....But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” (Acts 1:4-8).
In Acts 10, Peter preached about, ..."how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him." While Peter was preaching the Holy Spirit fell on the people and they spoke in tongues and magnified the Lord!
Paul asked the disciples in Acts 19,"Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” Notice he did not ask the disciples if they were saved or if they had been baptized in water but had they received the Holy Spirit. Paul was emphatic about the importance of receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
Jesus said in John 16:7, "But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you.” Jesus said It was to our ADVANTAGE for the Holy Spirit or Helper to come to us.
If you've never received the baptism in the Holy Spirit, ask Him now. Receive an infilling of the Holy Spirit by faith and be endued with power to be an Overcomer in this life on earth!!
The Apostle Paul tells us to "pray without ceasing". But maybe you don't pray because you don't know how to pray. Prayer can be making your requests known to God. But really, prayer is simply having a 2-way conversation with God your Father, as a child talking to his Father!
Prayer is not a magic formula to get what we want or a mechanical recitation of words. Jesus tells us not to use vain repetitions as the heathen do. But prayer is knowing who your heavenly Father is and trusting that He always knows what is best for you. It's to interact with the Lord by exchanging human wishes (ideas) for His wishes as He imparts faith.
Jesus gave us the model prayer in Matthew 6:9-13, which covers about every area of our lives. This prayer is exalting the Lord, praying for His Will, believing our daily needs will be provided for, keeping us from temptation and believing for our protection. What a powerful prayer! "Your kingdom come, Your will be done, On earth as it is in heaven."
Prayer is believing AND receiving. Not just believing, but receiving the answer. It's having faith that God will answer your prayers and you receiving the answer. Mark 11:24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
"Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.”
Jesus points out the significance of the gathering of "two or more" believers and the power of corporate agreement and corporate unity. Whatever things the two or more agree on in prayer, it shall be done for them AND His presence is in the midst of them.
King David understood the power of corporate worship. He strategically implemented 4000 Levite priests to sing and play instruments before the Lord day and night, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. The priests fervently worshipped and adored the Lord with all their strength and might which brought in the presence and the glory of God.
Before Jesus ascended into heaven, His last instruction to the disciples was to wait for the Promise of the Father and be baptized in the Holy Spirit. What happened next was a supernatural move of God. As the disciples continued to corporately pray together, in one accord--history was made. A mighty, rushing wind swept across the upper room, tongues of fire sat upon each of them, they all spoke in unknown tongues and they started boldly preaching to the crowds in Jerusalem.
Corporate prayer and corporate worship, where two or more are gathered together abandoning their earthly desires, in unity and one accord is so very powerful. Come together with one another corporately in an expectation and with a heart yearning and longing for His presence and your life will be forever changed for eternity.
