8.10.14: You may know Mr. Zucker better from his blog South Bronx School. He has a pretty compelling tale up on his website about the necessity of tenure for professional educators. Notwithstanding our various ideological debates on education reform, who's right, who's wrong, and who's potentially racist or sexist, there are people out there in a lot of pain because they tried to do what's right. We need to emphasize and find ways to support our fellow educators. Remember, no activist, wonk, or pundit would have anything without the tireless efforts of the classroom teachers.

Even after more than 7 years of changing the way you listen to the internet, your friends in podcasting are still able to bring you an unusual episode, even by their own admittedly unusual standards!
This week’s show is quite the grab-bag …
It all starts with longtime listener (and key collaborator in The Lady Killers) Shaun Parker telling an amazing true story about his quest to deliver home-made candy to Robert Redford.
Then, Dean interviews his old pal, writer, sketch comic and comic book creator Ian Boothby and Ian’s wife, artist and comic book creator Pia Guerra. They all talk San Diego Comic-Con.
Finally, Phil returns to discuss several movies with Dean.
Something for everyone? We like to think so!

Everyone has a journey in life. The choice of taking that journey or not is our real dilemma. After leaving behind routine and comfort of an eight-year career, Shaun decided to embark on this journey of discovering his real identity. People called him crazy, stupid, and insane to uproot from what many would consider “stability.” However, Shaun felt walking in the unknown was more appealing than living unhappy.
