"History is a clock that people use to tell their time of day. It is a compass they use to find themselves on the map of human geography. It tells them where they are, but more importantly, what they must be."
We must remember the ancestors and listen to thier words of wisdom...Please enjoy!

On Christmas night December 25th, 2014 the Hermetic Hour with host Poke
Runyon will present a special program in which Frater Thabion, your host
and the founder of the Order of the Temple of Astarte, will trace the
books and films that influenced and inspired him to create and develop
his unique American system of Magick. I grew out of the Oz books and
graduated to the Mars books (John Carter) then into a teenage
fascination with Richard Shaver's hi-tech Lemurian survivor stories. I
will go to my 1950s early college days watching films such as Jean
Cocteau's Orpheus, and Orson Welles Black Magic (on Cagliostro and
Mesmer) and move on through to a study of Voodoo in line with my
Caribbean adventurer-fiction writer persona. The Saragossa Manuscript
for Kabbalah and mirror magick, Graves The White Goddess. Then my
illness which I tried to cure with self-hypnosis. This led to a serious
study of hypnosis along with Tibetan Tantra (Evans-Wentz) and finally
Western Magick. Mastering the Goetia with the mirror method led to
Jungian psycho-philosophy and the study of anthropology culminating in a
Master's Degree in the subject from California State University. During
this program I created the modern Hermetically oriented Neo-Canaanite
Seasonal ceremonies for our magical order The Temple of Astarte, The
main purpose of our Goetia was to bring up and reestablish the Secret
Goddess of old King Solomon himself. We use the 1770 Hermetic-Masonic rite of Crata Repoa as a structure for our system and I will discuss the sources behind this. Perhaps some of these books and teachings will help others to understand our perspective on the Western Tradition and what we expect to
accomplish by what we call The Great Work.

Loyce Bullock, host of Let's Talk Truth is focused tonight on the excuses people use for not becoming a part of the body of Christ. Another name for it is "Attending Church". People have more excuses for not attending church than "Carter Got Liver Pills" (old school verbage)(ask someone old school). Who is responsible for where you spend eternity. Is it better to take a chance on where you will go after you die or continue to blame the church for your lack of relationship with God. If you do not believe in God, this broadcast is not for you. Please feel free to join in by dialing 347-843-4945 at 7:30 pm CST tonight.

KICKING BACK & LOOKING BACK: Through My Rear View Mirror
The last couple of weeks in the calendar year is the time that many of us start thinking about our own personal year in review.
We get out our list and determine if it's been a "good" or "bad" year based on our accomplishments at work, our relationships with family and how, how much weight we've lost, or how many dollars we have in the bank. But not for Tamarra! She started out with intentions and no “list”.. and what’s transpired over this past year has been nothing short of amazing. It’s been a tremendous year of confusion and enlightenment, losses and gains, hard work and no work... all to culminate into a life well lived with blessings, gratitude and abundance.
Come join Tamarra and her host Ben Carter in this journey of discovery! Feel free to enhance the experience with your comments or questions by dialing 347-857-2878 anytime during the broadcast.
“See” you there!

Going away to college is a time in a young persons' life that should be about discovery, learning, and making lifelong friends. However, as parents send their children away from home, some for the very first time, there is even more to be anxious about, especially their safety on campus.
According to the Justice Department, "1 in 5 women will be a victim of rape or attempted rape." When these incidents occur on campus property they are in the jurisdiction of campus police, and many victims do not report, or are discouraged to report by school administrators.
With sexual assaults, active shooters, and luring into human trafficking from our college campuses, the college experience has changed.
Guest for the hour S. Daniel Carter will discuss these issues and what is being done to create real, enforceable guidelines for campuses to follow in order to make the environment safer for students everywhere.
MEL CARTER BIO: Carter recorded for Sam Cooke's SAR record label in the early 1960s. He had his first hit in 1962 at the age of nineteen with "When a Boy Falls in Love", which was co-written by Cooke.
By the time he reached his commercial peak with Imperial Records in the middle of the decade, he was specializing in pop ballads. His biggest success was the Top 10 Billboard Hot 100 hit, "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me," which reached Number 8, in 1965. It sold over one million copies, and was awarded a gold disc. He had a couple of other Top 40 entries over the next year, "Band of Gold" and "All of a Sudden My Heart Sings", as well as a few other easy listening sellers.
Carter appeared on the DVD of the PBS special, Doo Wop 51, recorded in 2001 performing his hit.
Carter later acted on television programmes such as Quincy, M.E.,Sanford and Son, Marcus Welby, M.D.and Magnum, P.I..
The reverberations from the Richmond County Grand Jury’s decision not to indict Daniel Pantaleo, of the NYPD, continue to be felt.
While protests on behalf of Eric Garner and Michael Brown, have been largely peaceful, if not very inconveniencing for New Yorkers, there have been sporadic instances of violence,
During a protest on the Brooklyn Bridge last Saturday, two men, both white, one a college professor, allegedly triggered a melee and assaulted police.
In the meantime, the events and reactions from that fateful day has caused tension between Mayor DiBlasio and the head of the Patrolman’s Benevolent Association, Patrick Lynch, who has accused the mayor of making remarks that are disrespectful of the police.
In fact, some of the NYPD have supported a pledge to disinvite the Mayor to their funerals.
On the international front, Barack Obama has decided to establish diplomatic and economic relations with Cuba, citing that the embargo, in place since 1961, has “not worked”.
Again, as expected, the reactions vary, with intense criticism from Sens. Marco Rubio Robert Menendez, both of whom are of Cuban heritage.
On the other hand, Jimmy Carter praised Obama’s “political courage”. Perhaps he sees this as a sort of redemption from the Mariel Boatlift?
I wonder out loud, what this means for black people economically, with an anticipated influx of Cubans to this country, just 90 miles away.
For those old enough to remember, this conjures memories of the Bay of Pigs (1961) and Cuban Missile Crisis (1962).
By the WAY, Obama says that black people are “better off” (HE said it, NOT me!)
So be prepared to discuss these pointed issues on the Critical Discourse University of the Blogosphere.
