  • Self-Centralness: How It HELPS Your Spiritual Journey

    in Spirituality

JOIN ME LIVE ONLINE TUESDAY, 8/4 9am ET with special guest Debi Weinstein  for Living the Shift! There's so much to do... so many to help... the pace of our shifting has sped up (and continues to do so) exponentially! We've been taught -externally, via our families, friends, belief systems, cultures - that sacrificing the self for others or putting others first, above our own needs (especially for our children and families) is honorable, and "makes us worthy" of being loved. Throughout this existence of duality and separation, part of the lessons we've ALSO explored - to the extreme - is giving away our power to others, whether by sacrifice, by allowing ourselves to feel subservient, unknowledgable, or deficient in some way.

Time to decipher that... and turn it around, so we can remember how we're the MOST useful and bright Divine tool to help spread the highest vibration possible!

In this episode, we'll talk about "self-centralness"... what it is, its CRUCIAL importance, how it touches ALL parts of our journeys, both individual and collective... and how to shift things to this perspective to optimize our experience. That includes - and sometimes is ESPECIALLY important for - spiritual practitioners, whether one has just started practicing... or has been doing so for decades.

    Hope you can take part!

The Word With G, New York Sports Edition

    in Sports

The New York Mets were very busy in free agency ugrading the roster immensely with the likes of Juan Uribe, Kelly Johnson, Tyler Clippard and the biggest bat brought in since Carlos Delgado, Yoenis Cespedes. Found out how I feel Sandy Alderson did in free agency and if these moves will be enough to over take the Washington Nationals in the NL East.

The New York Yankees were quiet at the trade deadline but are bringing up one of their prized rookie possessions in Luis Severino. The offense has been on a torrid pace while the pitching still leaves much to be desired.

  • Lester On Fire With Deadline Near, Bears Go To Camp, NFC North Preview: Vikings

    in Sports

The Cubs took 2 out of 3 against the Rockies, thanks to a dominant performance on the mound from Jon Lester.  As they head to Milwaukee for a 4 game series vs the Brewers, their bats and bullpen still need help.  With the trade deadline one day away, other teams are making moves while the Cubs stand pat.

The Bears began training camp today hoping to build on the chemistry that old teammates and new built during minicamps and OTAs.  Can John Fox unite this ragtag group and bring them back to Soldier Field ready to surprise the NFL?

Tonight I'll also begin taking a closer look at the NFC North rivals, starting with the Minnesota Vikings.  What can we expect from the purple and gold in 2015?

    The Interpersonal Connection "Don't Quit"

    in Spirituality

Encouraging and Inspirational Words of Wisdom, Spirit and Life. "Don't Quit" When things go wrong, as they sometimes will, When the road you're trudging seems all uphill, When the funds are low and the debts are high, And you want to smile, but you have to sigh, When care is pressing you down a bit Rest if you must, but don't you quit. Life is perplexing with its twists and its turns, As every-one of us sometimes learns, And many a failure turns about When they might have won, had they stuck it out. Don't give up though the pace seems slow, You may succeed with another blow. Often the goal is nearer than, It seems to a faint and faltering person, Often the struggler has given up When they might have captured the victor's cup; And they learned too late when the night came down, How close they were to the golden crown. Success is failure turned inside out The silver tint of the clouds of doubt And you never can tell how close you are, It may be near when it seems so far; So stick to the fight when you are hardest hit, It's when things go wrong that you must not quit!

John Carver Show - Question Everything (Andy Stanley)

    in Self Help

NTRODUCTION What if there was a question that would clarify your best option for ninety percent of the decisions you make in life—a question that answers just about everything? It would have the potential to foolproof your relationships, marriage, finances, calendar, pace, and health. It would reduce the complexity of your life. It would save you time, money and tears. You would carry around less regret. And best of all, you wouldn’t have to apologize nearly as much. DISCUSSION QUESTIONS 1. Did you make any New Year’s resolutions? If so, what are you going to do to make sure you follow through on them? 2. What are some ways you’ve seen people allow their emotions and desires lead their decisionmaking? 3. Read Ephesians 5:15–17. What are some of the cultural currents that make it difficult for people today to make wise choices? 4. How might your life be different if you made decisions in light of your past experience and current circumstances? 5. During the message, Andy said, “Personal vision is often a catalyst for wise decisions.” Think about your future hopes and dreams. What are some opportunities you’re in danger of missing if you make unwise choices? 6. What is one area of your life about which you need to ask, “What’s the wise thing for me to do?” How can this group support you in asking that question? MOVING FORWARD Of every invitation, opportunity, relationship, or decision, ask “What’s the wise thing to do?” If you were going to do the wise thing, what would it be? By asking that question, even if you don’t follow through, you will discover something about you. You owe it to yourself to know the answer to that question. CHANGING YOUR MIND Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Ephesians 5:15–16

    Into the Cosmos! Wk 16

    in Soccer

This week on #IntotheCosmos our hosts Ej Garr and Frank Dell'Apa get you ready for a crazy week ahead for the New York Cosmos.

With three matches set to be played in seven days, the Cosmos will be on the field plenty, as they face two home games with Ft Lauderdale and Minnesota, before hitting the road for a second meeting with Ft Lauderdale.

We review the 1 - 1 draw with Indy Eleven this past weekend, whiich makes it six straight games in the series with a draw as an outcome between the teams.

We also welcome Andres Flores as our guest this week. Flores just rejoined the team from Gold Cup action with El Salvadore and he's making his second appearance on the show.

Teams are battling for positioning in the fall table and the Cosmos need to pick up the pace in the standings as the accumulative points for the spring and fall will determine home field advantage in the playoffs.
