IronMan Triathlete who Overcame Kidney Disease Shad Ireland

    in Business

Today on The BeachLifestyle Radio Show, Host Neil Haley the Total Tutor will interview Triathelete Shad Ireland!

Shad Ireland was born with healthy kidneys in May, 1972. Almost exactly eleven years later, in May, 1983, he and his mother got the news that those kidneys were now diseased and he would have to be on dialysis while awaiting a kidney transplant. Shad eventually underwent two transplant operations. The first kidney transplant, at age 18, lasted for three years. The second transplant was unsuccessful.

Shad is now a Triathelete, and has started his own foundation!

    Global Objective
Connecting, educating, and empowering individuals and families affected by kidney disease, its leading causes, and risk factors through the use of dynamic, innovative and engaging tools and resources that are impact focused and technology driven.

    Global Mission Statement

Committed to education, prevention, awareness, and access, the Shad Ireland Foundation is an international non-profit organization that is actively exploring ways to further develop and expand its global impact on kidney diseases and their leading causes. In countries around the world we are developing the organization and creating strategic relationships that will lead to the development of tools and resources, which will ultimately and positively impact individuals, families, and communities affected by, and or living with this disease.

JTG + SAYSHA J live MRTR

    in Pop Culture

*Celebrating 2 Years on Air & over 200 Episodes!*

    @MYREALTALKRADIO interviews Former @WWE Superstar: JTG & Female Hip-Hop Emcee: SAYSHA J.

The street-savvy robbin’ hood wasn’t just about flossed-out grills, swiping wallets and hot steppin’. JTG’s heart was in competing and stealing the spotlight. From his early days as one-half of the controversial tag team Cryme Tyme to a notable run as a singles star on SmackDown and WWE NXT, JTG proved himself a tough Brooklyn brawler both in and out of the ring.

The wildly popular Cryme Tyme effectively combined JTG’s speed with Shad’s brute strength for a winning combination in WWE’s tag team division. Together, JTG and Shad were embraced by the WWE Universe who learned its share of hip lingo on the pair’s WWE.com web show, “Word Up!” When Cryme Tyme’s seemingly unbreakable bond shattered in 2010, JTG was forced to go his own way, navigating the singles ranks on SmackDown.

As a solo act, JTG kept it real, particularly at the outset of his stint on Friday nights with his talk show “Str8 Outta Brooklyn.” When not spittin’ his game on the mic, JTG stepped his game up in the ring where he clashed with WWE’s most rugged warriors. Through wins and losses, JTG's hustle truly cannot be knocked.

    Jimmy Pollard

    in Health

In 1986, Jimmy Pollard, a special education teacher by training, found himself managing a specialist unit in a nursing home. Unaware of Huntington’s disease, he rejected for admission a young woman living with it. Her mother gently persuaded him to reconsider and admit her daughter. So began his career working with folks and family touched by HD. Jimmy became interested in how HD’s cognitive changes challenge both people living with it and their carers, and how care settings can accommodate the unique needs of people with HD.

Walking beside Tony, Geri, Carol, Karen, John and Barbara as they travelled their HD roads for 15 years, he began to learn how these changes challenged them every moment and how they went about coping with them. He learned that listening to families and collaborating with professional colleagues is essential to better understanding and, most importantly, to improved care.

In the intervening years, Jimmy has written “A Caregiver’s Handbook for Advanced Stage Huntington’s Disease” and “Hurry Up & Wait! A Cognitive Care Companion for Huntington’s Disease,” which have been translated into eight languages by national HD associations around the world, and has spoken at national HD meetings in Australia, England, Italy, Portugal, Ireland, Switzerland, Poland, Scotland, Canada, and the United States.

    in Paranormal

On a warm spring night, the rain slowly taps on your window as you lay in bed.  Your eyes unseeingly stare off into the dark as sleep finally begins to draw your eyes closed. Just then, deep sobbing begins to worm its way under your door and crawl across the floor.  Your eyes dart open as you grasp for whatever seems to signify reality around you. After a few moments you know you are no longer dreaming, and yet a nightmare seems to be emanating from outside of your room.  On this episode of Living Paranormal we invite Barry Fitzgerald from across the pond to discuss the topic of his book “Banshee – Modern Encounters with the Banshee”.  And boy do we learn a ton!
