When you look in the mirror do you see someone with a stirring in your heart, with a dream I’m going to refer to as “Gandhi-sized,” which means it doesn’t matter if it’s big or small, what matters is it’s a dream that you believe will make a positive difference in the world. A dream that actually makes you want to be the change you want to see in the world. But what does that even look like? It looks like our guest, Laura Sullivan, Grammy winning composer and recording artist. Join us as Laura shares with us how she’s spreading love all over the world, being the change she wants to see in the world. It’s not just for Grammy winning artists today on Love, Trust & Pixie Dust—have a little faith, trust yourself—you too can be that change.
Think back to a time you’ve been in a situation where you haven’t been quite sure of yourself, a little tentative, as if you could play it this way or that, almost like a coin toss, you have no idea which way will yield the result you want. But you make up your mind and go for it anyway. After the fact, if you’re happy with the result, maybe you’ve sat back and patted yourself on the back as you’ve let out a sigh of relief, whispering, yes!, I love the way that worked out for me! Or, maybe you’ve walked off, shoulders slumped, thinking, not my finest moment. First off, let’s just say that each of us has found ourselves in this situation at one time or another…and I for one would like to feel more of the yes moments than the shoulders slumped moments! But how do we build that characteristic? Today, as we speak with Shannon Polly, co-founder of Positive Business DC , keep your ears open as she shares exactly how. So throw those shoulders back, and get ready to give me your best YES!
Find out why today's guest, Dr. Michelle Robin says, “Part of wellness is being able to look someone in the eye and feel worthy.”
Dr. Michelle Robin shared the following on her blog: “We all want love and happiness…really connectedness. It’s human nature. Yet somehow the love and relationships we seek often elude us. I’m not just talking about romantic love relationships either. We sometimes struggle with having the deep connections and comfort we desire with friends and family as well. We may even find it difficult to make good connections or attract the ideal clients and business partners with whom we want to work. Why? Maybe it’s because our focus is on seeking external connections instead of finding an internal one.”
She said, maybe, and I would say, yes!…Dr. Robin hit the nail on the head: we seek external connections instead of internal ones. It’s my belief that over time, we establish these external connections, these wants and desires, and we simply don’t have very much practice tapping into our internal connections. Join in as Dr. Robin and I share valuable information on how you can create healthy relationships, and learn a basic fact of life you may have never considered: what the opposite of addiction is. You do not want to miss today's show!
As We Dance
In the sky less stars tonight But who needs shards of light when the sparkle in your heart ignites fire in the alley of my mind. I close my eyes, just to feel me swinging in your arms I trust to fall knowing you will hug me tightly as we dance Under a sky void of light, my sweet Psyche, my soul I keep your world upright. The darkness now bright, truth streaming from deep behind those wonton eyes. My heart has been ignited by the comfort of your mind as we dance.....
Trust Me, Love me
I cry for you, I cry right now
I wonder why, I wonder how
You've hurt my feelings
You've broke my heart
I hate it when we're always apart.
I love you, but do you love me?
Is our love fake or meant to be?
We hug, we hold hands, but that's all we can do, I wish I can do more, but that's all up to you.
Why can't you trust or believe in me? You think I cheat, is that what you see?
I would never hurt or break up with you, at least that's what I think, do you think that way too?
When I'm with you I'm as happy as can be, I think about you all night, do you think about me?
I think you're funny and also very strong, some times I feel like nothing can go wrong.
Do you even know my feelings for you? I wish I can express my love that's been true.
I'll never forget the time we've spend, some times I wish that it'll never end.
Just give me a hug or even a kiss, I hope it's something that I'll never ever miss.
Forget what people say or might even do, you should always remember that I'll always love you!!
“You may find the worst enemy or best friend in yourself." ~English Proverb”
So, why do we sell ourselves short? And if we have been doing it for a long time, like so many of us have done, how do we break the cycle so that we can reach our full potential in life? It's time to be your best friend.

Letting go is so much easier said than done. Our tendency is to hold on with all our might…if we just held on a little tighter, we would get what we wanted. If only we could hold on a little stronger, then we would be happy. Then one day we realize, it’s not in the holding on, it’s in the letting go. When we learn to let go, we are free. By how do we do that? I was never taught how to let go in school. Were you?
We learn through the School of Life. Today on Love, Trust & Pixie Dust, MIT molecular biologist turned philosophical author Greg Marcus, Ph.D. and I have an important lesson to share with you. Come join us as we share a radical method for letting go.
How do you go from one day not having breast cancer, the next day you’re diagnosed with it, and then you feel beautiful? Hold on now! There’s a huge gap there! How does anyone go from diagnosis to beautiful? And does one EVER get there?
Yes. It is possible. I’m living proof. But you must have a strong foundation. And in today’s show, you’ll meet a huge portion of the strong foundation, two prominent surgeons who will share much more than their medical knowledge with you, although they do a good deal of that, too. Dr. Alison Laidley and Dr. John Antonetti of Medical City Hospital located in Dallas, Texas share the softer side of the scalpel…they show you their hearts as they speak very candidly about a delicate topic.
Let’s kick off October right! Join us as we embrace our beauty!
Are you a woman who feels comfortable in her skin? Maybe yes, maybe no, may some days.... Whether you’re in a staff meeting or having tea with girlfriends, the bottom line question is this: Do you feel you are worthy? I’m not trying to be provocative, but I am curious, do you know you are enough? Enough what? Smart enough. Pretty enough. Witty enough. Fast enough, enough, enough. Have there been times when you would have welcomed the kindness from another woman, but instead, felt utterly alone…thinking, why have I been left out on this island by myself…surely they’ve felt this way themselves. Why is no one coming to my side? Join us as we speak with Lisa Fey, President of Atta Girl, about what happens when women help women. Let’s discover ways to support other women, and in the process, support the most important woman in your life: YOU. (Don’t be shy men, this is valuable insider information you don’t want to miss!)
After receiving a cancer diagnosis, the sheer number and magnitude of emotions is staggering. I know firsthand. The medical side of things could not be more important, but often, it’s the emotional side of cancer that is pushed to the back-burner. Today we are here to learn about an international organization that you cannot afford not to know about. This organization provides support for your every cancer need that falls outside of the realm of the medical—they provide the gold standard of cancer support for all things emotional and psychological for you AND your loved ones after a cancer diagnosis. Join me in welcoming Mirchelle Louis, CEO of the North Texas Cancer Support Community, just one of many CSC facilities that can be found around the world. Come learn how to take the first step in healing the emotional side of cancer.
Leaving a legacy of love isn’t as much about dying, as it is about leaving your loved ones a piece of you—something they will be able to hold on to and cherish—long after the material possessions slip away. Join in as we visit with Ann Ranson and set the record straight on a topic that has absolutely no reason to be taboo: death and dying. There are preparations to be made to celebrate life through intentional legacy, and Ann is here to show us the way!

Today we are sharing the truth about women and what goes on in our minds about our bodies. When it’s all said and done, what we want is to feel assured that: I am okay. I am enough. I am worth it. Yet so often that’s not what we feel at all. Today we are speaking with the extremely talented photographer Alicia Daw, as she and I have a very open conversation about women and our bodies, self image, confidence, lack of it, where this all stems from, and what we can do about it. It's never too late—not for us—and especially not for our daughters.
Come join us today as we make peace with our bodies.
