When we pray, ‘Thy kingdom come,’ this is what we are praying for: the effectual and universal rule of Christ in all the world, not only over believers."

    in Politics

Americans are systematically being fed lies about the situation in the Eastern Ukrainian Donbass region, where a struggle continues between the fascist coup government of Ukraine and the largely ethnic Russian population who have voted for autonomy from the central government, contrary to the Western media that consistently describes them as "separatists." In a referendum held many months ago, they overwhelmingly voted to stay a part of Ukraine despite statements by Lieve government officials describing them as "subhuman" and calling for violent suppression of the region.

In a recent election, residents of the rebellious Donbass region have reaffirmed their loyalty to the nation despite the overthrow of the elected government.  The overwhelmingly voted for leaders who are calling for negiation with Kiev on terms of autonomy that it has already agreed to as a condition of truce. This is despite the fact that Kiev has consistently violated that truce, ruthlessly attacking civilian populations in an offensive that is widely expected to resume now that the Kieve forces have been rearmed by the US and regrouped from early rebel victories.

Eliason is a highly respected  American reporter who lives in the embattled region of Eastern Ukraine. He writes for OpEd News. He joins us for a conversation about the situation in Ukraine,

This show will be rebroadcast on November 29 at AM PST/ 12 PM EST on the Star Com Radio network.

The First Thanksgiving and the Feast of Sukkot

    in Spirituality

In 1620, 102 Pilgrims, Separatists from the Church of England sailed east across the Atlantic aboard the cramped 100 ft. "Mayflower" in a voyage that if compared with today, would be like a voyage to the moon. For 66 days they lived in an ill-lighted, close-quartered, rolling, pitching, stinking, over-heated "below-decks"; the hatches battened down, the smell of the bilge in their nostrils, and the crew hostile towards Separatists. Cloistered in a space the size of a volleyball court, 102 people with their spiritual leader William Bradford endured the unendurable. Bradford spoke of this voyage in his and Edward Winslow's work: Thanksgiving Readings, also with his first-hand account of the first harvest celebration in America. And in it, he makes a direct connection with the Hebrew experience of the Exodus from Egypt. In his account, he uses the language of Jewish Sukkot:The Feast of Tabernacles. How did Bradford see both events as similar? Tune in and take notes! Your host, Rev. Rick Anderson, on "Jewish Roots", each Thursday at 9:30 pm, EST at www.ScripturesDramatized.com. Internet Podcast LIVE radio. To call in with a question or comment: 347-324-5759.
