Tune in today for another great episode of the The Down and Dirty with Frank Fontana!
Up first is Sell This House: Extreme master builder Charlie Frattini. A few weeks ago, we had show host Tanya Memme on and she gave us the scoop on the crew... including Charlie. We'll learn about his background, and how he got involved in A&E's longest running daytime show.
During our Craftsmanship segment, we're welcoming Dr. Ron Koperski and some of his students to the studio. He heads up the COM 494 class at Bradley University's Slane College of Communications and Fine Arts, and they're in the midst of learning the craft of public relations and communications during their spring Corporate and Agency Seminar.
We're also checking in with Dinger Bats owner and partner Kyle Drone about manufacturing wooden baseball bats in a startup atmosphere, and we'll hear a DIY Disaster story from The Impatient Gardener blogger Erin Schanen.
Let's get Down and Dirty!
When people talk about how to sell your house, they often think of those important things like kitchens, baths, cleaning up and putting cookies in the oven before the open house. But what often gets left un-talked about is the value of speed.
And if you want to know how to sell your house---fast---you want to talk to realtor Danny Griffin of A&E's 60-Seconds to Sell. Along with his brother John, the Griffin brothers are high-stakes realtors turning the typical home sale technique on its head. They list a house at about half its traditional market value. This starts a feeding frenzy of deal-hungry buyers. They call it the “quick sale auction”.
They say it works.
You can see the action as it happens on 60 Seconds to Sell. (Saturdays at12:00pm on A&E). The trick is to get buyers' attention and then let greed, desire and market forces take over. Once buyers smell a deal, they’re drawn to a two-hour, one-day open house and auction where the brothers start a bidding process (war?) and let the circling buyers feed with their checkbooks.
The technique infuriates some traditional realtors, but Danny says it works and susses out what the home would eventually sell for anyway, minus all the waiting.
What does this do if you want to know how to sell your house quickly? It creates a possible path to get the price you'd get anyway, without the carrying costs of a house that languishes for weeks and months on the market. It makes it possible for a homeowner to get cash in hand to move when they want to and get the new house they're buying without someone else snatching it up from under them.
It's a gamble. Have you got 60-seconds?

Today on "It's My House", we shall discuss one of the primary ways that people can loose their homes and even entire neighborhoods and that is through religion. Many religion preach to their flock on a weekly basis of how they can get to Heaven and gain riches in the after life by faithfully giving their Tithes and Offerings to the church............however we shall take a look at how those funds flow.
There is a cycle starts out with churck folks giving their money to the church, then the church deposits the money into the bank, next the bank lends that money to "developers" and "goverments" who in turn "legally" can use those funds to steal your house from you.
Thus people and communities are House Jacked In The Name Of Jesus.

Today on "It's My House" we shall take a look at how governments are financed via House Hijacking. Municipal governments are corporations that are in business to make a profit. Some (not all) governments have a very ravenous appetite for money and in their hunger they will even devour the citizens whom they are suppose to serve.
We shall take a look at the methods that many goverments use to take homes away from people, in a cold blooded fahsion.
During this discussion we shall take a look at the players involved in assisting the government House Jack your real estate holdings, so that their bank accounts are full..

To anyone who hasn’t lost their parents, here’s some news – you never get over it'
This is an excert from an artical written for the Guardian.com Entitled They're my parents. I miss them by: Eleni Kyriacou:Friday 9 December 2011 19.05 EST
On a bitterly cold April morning in 1998, my father died of a heart attack. The shock of his death was like a punch to the stomach. It was the first bereavement I'd experienced up close. For weeks, a cloak of confusion, rage and disbelief descended. By contrast, my mother's death, five years later, held no shock. It arrived clearly signposted, with a predictability that was agonising: diagnosis, scan, operation, false hope, radiotherapy, hospice, morphine, death.
At 39 I'd become an adult orphan, a member of the club that nobody wants to join but most will. One parent dying was devastating; but when my mother died it changed me for ever. I felt anchorless, as if I was no longer anyone's child. I may have looked the same but something inside me shifted.
A friend likens being an adult orphan to being the only tree left standing in a forest. I know what she means. For me it's as if my roots have been hacked away: my parents are the reason I'm here, what held me up. They had been the one stable point during my whole life, the constant. Yes, I'm an adult and can stand alone. But there are times I still need my mother and father, times I feel very alone.
Join Uptown and Zaiyah as they discuss this and other important topics on this weeks edition of Zaiyah's House.
