My Selfie…. Hott or Naw??? You cannot log on to any social media site and not see at least one selfie. This is what’s hot and current. Selfies are right up there with abbreviations… smh, lol, wtf and tbt and #hashtags… I must say even my mom can be caught taking a selfie… This is all well and good, but what happens if it is not a great selfie? People really take it to heart when their selfies only get liked by their family and close friends.
A teenager became so obsessed with taking the perfect selfie that he tried to kill himself when his efforts failed. Danny Bowman, 19, would spend 10 hours a day taking up to 200 photos of himself on his iPhone. The teenager dropped out of school, remained housebound for six months and lost two stone in an attempt to capture the perfect self-portrait. Danny eventually became so depressed that he took an overdose, but he was discovered by his mother Penny and rushed to hospital. He told the Mirror : “I was constantly in search of taking the perfect selfie and when I realised I couldn’t I wanted to die. I lost my friends, my education, my health and almost my life."
On the adverse… some people have gained fame and fortune taking selfies…
Jen Selter is an Instagram sensation, this 21-year-old currently boasts over 4.9 million Instagram followers and 3 million Facebook fans…. She has a message for the "haters" - her butt is not fake!
Either way there is a lot of hoopla going on about Selfies… and you know 3D always has to have its piece of the pie…
Lindsay is a 21 year old senior at the Maryland Institute College of Art // photography major, book arts concentrator, gender studies minor, with a focus in fiber arts.
Lindsay's Tumblr Selfie posts caused outrageous, hateful comments from other Tumblr users. An Art Project that turned into hate fueled Lindsay to share an articstic approach to the ever flowing stinging words.
Quote from Lindsay ~
"I get tons of anonymous messages like this every day and while this isn’t unique to women, the content of the messages and the frequency in which I get them are definitely related to my gender. I almost exclusively get them after I post selfies. The authority people feel they have to share their opinion on my appearance is something myself and many other girls online deal with daily."

This episode of A Sound Heart will explore the reality of appropriate worship. We live in a time when the skewed vision of moral relativism has taken control of the hearts of people. Egocentrism rules the day. God has become a remote being for those who worship at the altar of self. The selfie is an old reality. There are such instances recorded in the Word of God of individuals who erected monuments to themselves, and their lives met with terrible ruin. The heart that worships God in sincerity and truth is the heart that will receive spiritual healing.
Today we're going to play a message by Dr. EA Johnston called The Ugly Tyrant of Self. We're doing this to build your self esteem. (LOL... no seriously). Seriously, the issue of selfishness in the church is RARELY discussed and we're all guilty of it. Dr. Johnston highlights how us being selfish is just like being like the devil.
Then we're going to look at some of the news concerning the persecuted church.
Sonny Onoo makes his way back to Turnbuckle Turmoil. He has been one of the favorite people of many podcasts to interview and we're happy to have him back. He was one of the top managers for WCW in its heyday. He was the master of the selfie years before that term was invented. He continues to be seen on shows and at conventions. He's coming back to Turnbuckle to educate us a little more. It's also the college wrestling season so you know we'll be discussing that with him again. Pull up a chair and get ready to be entertained again by Sonny Onoo.S
