My Selfie…. Hott or Naw??? You cannot log on to any social media site and not see at least one selfie. This is what’s hot and current. Selfies are right up there with abbreviations… smh, lol, wtf and tbt and #hashtags… I must say even my mom can be caught taking a selfie… This is all well and good, but what happens if it is not a great selfie? People really take it to heart when their selfies only get liked by their family and close friends.
A teenager became so obsessed with taking the perfect selfie that he tried to kill himself when his efforts failed. Danny Bowman, 19, would spend 10 hours a day taking up to 200 photos of himself on his iPhone. The teenager dropped out of school, remained housebound for six months and lost two stone in an attempt to capture the perfect self-portrait. Danny eventually became so depressed that he took an overdose, but he was discovered by his mother Penny and rushed to hospital. He told the Mirror : “I was constantly in search of taking the perfect selfie and when I realised I couldn’t I wanted to die. I lost my friends, my education, my health and almost my life."
On the adverse… some people have gained fame and fortune taking selfies…
Jen Selter is an Instagram sensation, this 21-year-old currently boasts over 4.9 million Instagram followers and 3 million Facebook fans…. She has a message for the "haters" - her butt is not fake!
Either way there is a lot of hoopla going on about Selfies… and you know 3D always has to have its piece of the pie…
Lindsay is a 21 year old senior at the Maryland Institute College of Art // photography major, book arts concentrator, gender studies minor, with a focus in fiber arts.
Lindsay's Tumblr Selfie posts caused outrageous, hateful comments from other Tumblr users. An Art Project that turned into hate fueled Lindsay to share an articstic approach to the ever flowing stinging words.
Quote from Lindsay ~
"I get tons of anonymous messages like this every day and while this isn’t unique to women, the content of the messages and the frequency in which I get them are definitely related to my gender. I almost exclusively get them after I post selfies. The authority people feel they have to share their opinion on my appearance is something myself and many other girls online deal with daily."

This episode of Pneumatikos will expose the truth of the selfie phenomenon. Yahweh's word has much to say about the last days and those who are entralled by their own images. The generation that loves itself in this manner has lost the capacity to know that real life is about knowing God, and giving and receiving love.
Therapist and author Leo Battenhausen talks about how the values of previous generations have been swept away in a tide of shallow narcessism. We'll discuss is book, Socialcide: How America is Loving Itself to Death. Also, Sean and Dr. Tim Weldon (author of Inspired: The Casebook of Will Day, and Faring Homewards: The Philosophy of Antoine de Saint Exupery) look faith and culture. Later in the show, Dr. Helen Scieszka talks about her new novel, Little Girl Lost, Little Girl Found: A Story of Faith, Hope, and Healing. It tells the story of a woman dealing with memories of childhood abuse, and aims to help people going through their own struggles.
Understanding the gravity of the situaiton is often important, especially when you're a world leader. Put, President Obama, Prime Minister Cameron and Prime Minister of Denmark, Helle Thorning-Schmidt all did ther best "Group Selfie" at the memorial service for President Nelson Mandella. Was it appropriate?
First up, we discuss Jay "The" Carny and Uncle Omar. How he once again lies about the presidents knowledge (or lack there of). The amount of lies and deception from the administration in mind boggling.
Also, The Convention of states! Are we one step closer to restoring the Republic?
The Budget Deal, who, what, when, where, how and why?
Common Core, the dispicible changes to the education of our children? indoctrination 101?
All that, your comments on the phone (347) 205-9399, chat and twitter (#SHR) coming up on tonights show!
A selfie is a type of self-portrait photograph, typically taken with a hand-held digital camera or camera phone. Selfies are often associated with social networking, like Instagram. They are often casual, are typically taken either with a camera held at arm's length or in a mirror, and typically include either only the photographer or the photographer and as many people as can be in focus. Selfies taken that involve multiple people are known as "group selfies" or "ussies".
