Radical Self-Acceptance Will Change Your Destiny

    in Spirituality

This episode of Pneumatikos will explore the importance of self-acceptance. God has made us all unique and wonderful.  We should give thanks to him for the gift of personhood.  You are accepted by God in Christ Jesus.  You must allow no other interpretation of your unique personhood to trample upon your spirit. Many, however, cannot accept themselves because they are fragile and unfamiliar with self-acceptance.  Jesus Christ became a curse on our behalf that we might receive ourselves anew.  We may enjoy radical self-acceptance in Jesus.

    Self Aid with Helen Woo

    in Self Help

Helen Woo endured her life. It wasn't living. Raised in a restrictive traditional Chinese-American household, she experienced self-esteem issues, mental and physical abuse, grief, substance abuse, betrayal and depression. Yet she still managed to have a successful career that allowed her to build a bit of a nest egg. Later, when she invested it in a partnership with a close friend, only to have her partner steal all of the assets, that betrayal was the last straw. Alone and raising a son, Woo knew something had to change-and it wasn't the world around her-it was the world within her.

Having experienced a philosophical and spiritual shift, Woo created the concept of SELF-AID--an acronym that stands for Self-Aid (self-help), Esteem, Love/Laughter, Freedom, Attitude, Integrity, Dream. Her new book SELF-AID - Inspirations to Turn Struggles into Success(January, 2015), allows her readers to be inspired and uplifted by the very quotes that ultimately turned her life around. Each quote is followed by one of her unique "Wooisms" - the ideal way to interpret the quote to engineer a shift into a higher and better way of thinking. The book, divided into each of these categories, provides SELF-AID for anyone to lift out of their doldrums or depression and move into a life filled with joy, peace, gratitude and prosperity.

    "Self-Justification: A Study of Job's Temptation"

    in Spirituality

The religions that man invents are all religions of self-justification; every single one of them. That's what they all have in common. The radical difference between these and New Testament faith is this: it is GOD who justifies, and God alone. And He does it as a gift undeservedly given. I ask people all the time, and I mean even CHRISTIANS - church-going Christians. "On what basis are you justified? If you stood before God and He say to you 'Why should I let you into My heaven?' " And guess what? Most of 'em answer like a Pharisee: " 'Cause I'm a good person. I do my best." So then I say, "Well, how do you think JESUS fits into that whole picture, if at all?" And they answer, "Oh, yeah. Jesus. Well, I believe in Him." And they answer as if Jesus was just an after-thought.  In essence, they  base their salvation on self-justification. Tonight we talk about a man who was tempted to do just that, but God steered him clear of that error, at the last minute: Job. Tune in and take notes! Your host Rev. Rick Anderson, on "Jewish Roots", each Thursday at 9:30 pm EST. LIVE Internet radio. Listen through www.scripturesdramatized.com. To call with a comment: 347-324-5759. "FOUGCREW" radio.

    in Spirituality

This episode of Pneumatikos will explore excuse- making as a practice of chronic inaction. It's important to know that we can facilitate self-injury through negative self-talk.  The ability to change our reality orientation is an innate part of our humanity.  You have the image of God in your heart.  Believe that reality and move out in life.  Certain doors will not open to you, but others will open to you. The life that God offers is off the scale.  Don't be limited by offical reality.
