    Beyond the Standard—Weighing the Numbers

    in Christianity

Of all the names and numbers reported in the May issue of Christian Standard, we'll introduce you to three of them in this helpful episode:

Brian Kruckenberg, lead pastor with New City Church in Phoenix, Arizona will talk about his congregation's remarkable growth, 61.5% in 2014!

The second fastest-growing church reporting to us was Lifepointe Church in Raleigh, NC at 36.2 percent. Donnie Williams, Lifepointe's lead pastor, will join our panel.

Our third guest is Bo Chancey, senior pastor with Manchester (NH) Christian Church. This congregation achieved the highest baptism ratio, 17.7 percent. That means for every 100 people in the congregation's 2014 average, the church baptized almost 18 people.

We want to know how these congregations achieved this kind of outreach. Please listen for ideas and be ready to ask your questions of these dynamic church leaders.

In London his buds were Al Stewart, Jasper Carrot. In 1977, Arthur and his band Arthur's Dilemma  took Montreal by storm and arrived in New York to play Max's Kansas City every week for 4 months. This necessitated 5 changes of clothes for each show as they were either wet from performing or torn off by vagabond lovers all a part of that great event called New York in the 1970s. The houses they played were packed with the fashionisti and the Glitterati John and Yoko, Andy Warhol, David Hockney and every one ih the New Wave came to see this band.  Arthur's status with work visas was precarious and so he returned to England and the further adventures.......will be revealed in the second part of Arthur's musical profile on the Radio show.

    GLOBAL FREEDOM NETWORK

Address of The Most Revd and Right Hon Justin Welby, Archbishop of Canterbury

CEREMONY FOR THE SIGNING OF THE JOINT DECLARATION OF RELIGIOUS LEADERS AGAINST SLAVERY

Casina Pio IV, Tuesday, 2 December 2014

At a time when faiths are seen wrongly as a cause of conflict is a sign of real hope that today global faith leaders have together committed themselves publicly to the battle to end modern slavery. We live in a world where over 30 million people are oppressed in some form of slavery – trafficking, forced labour and prostitution, the trade in human organs and many more outrages.  The suffering is unimaginable. The challenge is acute and growing, facilitated by a globalised economy that is too easily without moral or conscience.

We gather to affirm a deep shared commitment for the liberation of those humiliated, abused and enslaved by their fellow-human beings. It is a challenge which must be undertaken in global partnership with others.

For Christians, commitment grows out of two fundamental convictions. First, God has made humanity in the divine image. No-one should be enslaved or denied the dignity of sharing actively and freely in the common life in which liberty is a part of creation.

The second conviction goes even further. Christians believe that the divine life was lived fully and uniquely in the flesh and blood of a human being, Jesus Christ, born through the willing co-operation of his mother Mary. And so we are bound to see every human being as part of the divine plan. This means that no human body can, in any circumstance, be simply an object to be traded, trafficked or enslaved. In Christ we find our liberation restored. God treated humanity with such loving respect by choosing to take human form among us – so we must share that love and respect for all human beings.

John Carver Show - Use Your Own Mind (Jim Rohn)

    in Self Help

Jim Rohn was an EXTRAORDINARY man.  He grew up on a farm and met one man that helped him learn how to change his life.  In this short talk Mr. Rohn shares how sad it is when people blame everything except for themselves for not making it in life.  Some of his most famous stories include:

Over the years I've been teaching children about a simple but powerful concept - the ant philosophy. I think everybody should study ants.

They have an amazing four-part philosophy, and here is the first part: ants never quit. That's a good philosophy. If they're headed somewhere and you try to stop them; they'll look for another way.

They'll climb over, they'll climb under, and they'll climb around. They keep looking for another way. What a neat philosophy, to never quit looking for a way to get where you're supposed to go.

Second, ants think winter all summer. That's an important perspective. You can't be so naive as to think summer will last forever. So ants are gathering in their winter food in the middle of summer.

An ancient story says, "Don't build your house on the sand in the summer." Why do we need that advice? Because it is important to be realistic. In the summer, you've got to think storm. You've got to think rocks as you enjoy the sand and sun. Think ahead....

Wow, what a great seminar to attend - the ant seminar. Never give up, look ahead, stay positive and do all you can.
