This show will focus on how Junkluggers, a junk-removal franchise, was started by CEO Josh Cohen right after college with the use of his mother's SUV. The brand achieved its goal of adding franchisees to the system in 2013 and enjoyed nearly 25 percent system-wide growth last year. Cohen and the rest of Junkluggers team plan to double in size entering the second year in franchising, aiming to end 2014 with additional units along the East Coast.
• Cohen, who is in his early thirties, could provide tips, insight, best practices, and what mistakes to avoid for other young business owners looking to take their business to the next level in 2014.
• Junkluggers got started in 2004, after Cohen returned to the U.S from studying abroad, he immediately hit the streets handing out homemade flyers all around town to promote his new business idea. After the phone began to ring, Cohen quickly realized there was a demand for a reliable, professional and eco-focused removal service. Armed with only his mom's SUV and a love for the environment, Cohen launched Junkluggers and has revolutionized the hauling and removal industry by focusing on environmentally-friendly and community-oriented furniture and junk removal practices.

Tough Talk with Tony Gambone and his guest Lawrence Agresto & June Stoelzel
On May 20, 1995, Larry Agresto became a single father literally overnight. His wife Jody, mother of his two daughters Lauren age 11 and Julia age seven, was rushed to the hospital on Thursday night and pronounced dead on Saturday morning. She had not been ill, so this turn of events was both a shock and tragedy for Larry and his daughters. Although he wasn’t aware of this at the time, Jody was and her last spoken words to him were “take good care of my girls.” Larry made a promise and as a result, he committed himself to being the best single father he could be and he made raising his girls a priority in his life. From 1987 to 2002, he has also coached over three hundred (300) student athletes in town and travel league basketball and softball. He attempted to start Single Dads with Heart about a year after Jody died but between his role as a single father and his career in corporate America, he had to abandon his dream and project until now. . Single Dads with Heart was developed to provide support, guidance and inspiration for single fathers. http://www.singledadswithheart.com

According to the Star Tribune, the North Side Safety Summit was organized to examine ways to fight crime in troubled Minneapolis neighborhoods. Unfortunately, this DFL embedded group felt it necessary to exclude the voices of Minneapolis civil and political rights activists – to include members of the Republican Party of Minnesota. Sources told IBNN – Minneapolis city council president and Minneapolis’ “Godmother” Barb Johnson wanted a “quiet meeting.”
Many say in order for Black folks to really move forward we shouldn’t look to anybody to represent us. We need to represent ourselves. There is no person that represents white people. Racism is the motivating factor that keeps people of color from advancing. We must keep in mind; the spread of racism requires the destruction of an individual’s confidence in his/her own mind. Such an individual then anxiously seeks a sense of identity by clinging to some group, abandoning autonomy and rights, allowing groups to tell him/her what to think. Because we think of ourselves as a racial entity, we feel those of the same race are here to assist us in the struggle, when in fact the same people who are suppose to assist us, use black disparities to get money from the white philanthropic arm. Most of the money goes to their salaries.
Having Black leaders and all that stuff is just another way of self-oppression. We all have to represent each other, the sad thing is the people who come into the inner city and say they represent the Black folks and then jump into their expensive cars and go home to the suburbs paid for with the quid pro quo of politicians, it shows they have learned how to maneuver the system to their advantage. The cover-up is a full time job.
Tune in for a great conversation and some special guest updates.
This weekly bible study will start in Genesis 1:3. The first day and the second day. the is a secert code.
President Obama has implemented a clemency plan for non-violent offenders, including drug offenders. Immediately after the announcement was made, the media distributes a front-page article featuring a white prisoner with an admitted history of drug use and sell dealing, criminal history and imprisonment...the article painted her as a victim of circumstances and a survivor of tragedy who deserves a second chance. Given the endless practices of injustice against African-Americans in the justice system, will Obama's clemency plan be the one thing where Blacks will get a fair shake, or is this yet one more dangling carrot-on-a-stick that will never come to fruition for Blacks?
