Little has been said on any prepper program about how to help yourself or others who have ostomies during disaster time!!! I will share 3 ideas to create or use appliances designed for longer term use when ostomy supplies are unavailable. What might a well equipped medic carry in his or her STAT PAK to help people who have a wide range of ostomy shapes and sizes? How to help folks who have ostomies emotionally through times of change and trauma to cope with the fear of having an ostomy emergency?
My favorite thing about sports is the way it brings people together. No matter what is happening in anyone’s life, sports is always common ground. It brings people together in a family environment, and gives you a sense of camaraderie. For those few hours – your game is on, everyone is one voice! You live, breathe and escape with every play. You rejoice together in victory and comfort each other in defeat. My passion is bringing people together by sharing their love for sports!

Jeremy Hilton was named the 2012 Armed Forces Insurance Military Spouse of the Year -- the first man to ever receive this honor. After graduating from the Air Force Academy, he served in the United States Navy for more than eight years as a submarine officer. Then, he continued serving, as a Military Family Advocate and stay-at-home Dad to his daughter and son. He honorably took on a support role for his wife, Lieutenant Colonel Renae Hilton, while also earning a graduate degree from George Washington University. His tireless efforts have reached far beyond his own family, however.
"Going to bat for exceptional military kids" is in part due to Jeremy watching his daughter endure early interventions that include 1000's of hours of therapy and nine surgeries, all but one being brain surgery. She was born with hydrocephalus and a host of other conditions, which have prompted him to publicly acknowledge and appreciate "small steps" for individuals with disabilities.
Jeremy has put an inordinate amount of energy into policy impacting our wounded warriors and veterans, campaigning for the "Tricare for Kids" legislation (Sec 735 of the 2013 National Defense Authorization Act), and testifying before the U.S. Senate Armed Services Subcommittee in Washington D.C. More recently, he attended the major (first time) conference-collaboration on Military Kids with Special Health Care Needs at NICHD (the kids part of NIH). The conference explored "what is known about military connected children with special health care needs in terms of their educational, psychosocial, and physical health statuses."
Jeremy Hilton believes moving mountains is still possible, no matter what your situation. Join us for this heart-rendering episode of advocating and celebrating our nation's exceptional military children.
