Because I have a young son it is MY responsibility to educate him...not just the schools. We focus a lot on the past and people that DID things to move our culture and society forward. How come we never talk about the people that are LIVING Black History on a daily basis? It is of no small coincidence that we are going to watch an emmy award winning violinist this evening...he is Black. Violin isnt exactly synonymous with Black men. We dont speak much about Misty Copeland..the famed ballerina, who was told at a young age that she was too "muscular" to be a ballerina she is also Black. We dont speak about several people I see in society making a change and a difference in the communities thru art, music, dance, literary, journalism or many other areas. I would like to acknowledge them today.
Tonights show will be a brief one. Im here to see Emmy award winner Damien Escobar play his violin tomorrow. But for now us 716 gals are going to have a bite to eat at New Yorks newest hotspot VANDAL.I am sure its going to be all they hashtag it up to be. Im excited to see my bud Kboogy and catch up on our usual ratchet behavior. Please know we have our red cups full of malbec bahaaaaaaaa
