Koenig, LCSW, M.Ed., is a licensed psychotherapist, eating coach with a worldwide clientele, motivational speaker and international author who has specialized in the field of compulsive, emotional and restrictive eating for 30 years. She received a B.A. from Boston University, an M.Ed. from Antioch College and an M.S.W. from Simmons College School of Social Work.
The reason you turn to food when you’re stressed or distressed is that you don’t have better ways of managing life’s ups and downs. According to Karen R. Koenig, an expert on the psychology of eating, you can transform your eating habits — and your life — by developing effective life skills.  With Koenig’s guidance, you’ll learn how to establish and maintain functional relationships, take care of yourself physically and emotionally, think rationally, and create a passionate, joyful, and meaningful life. When these behaviors take root and become automatic, food becomes what it is meant to be: nourishment and one of life’s many pleasures.

SCOTT WALKER LEADS IN NEW CALIFORNIA GOP PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY POLL

    in Politics Conservative

LOS ANGELES -- Scott Walker, Governor of Wisconsin, has a strong lead by a statistically significant margin in a new statewide poll of 600 likely Republican voters in California’s June 7, 2016 presidential primary election conducted by Landslide Communications.

California is a decidedly blue state in which Democratic Governor Jerry Brown recently won re-election by over one million votes, bucking a national trend that favored Republicans. And a Republican candidate for President has not won the state of California since 1988.

“Walker’s lead in both the full candidate field and narrowed matchups is strong, and statistically significant even though it may surprise some observers," said James V. Lacy of Landslide Communications, who wrote the questions and commissioned the poll.

Jim Lacy is author of Taxifornia: Liberals' Laboratory to Bankrupt America. Lacy is the co-founding director of the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association and a former official in the Reagan and Bush Administrations.

    Celebrating Two Great Events!

    in Finance

Two special days today. It is National Anthem Day and National Pancake Day.

Written by Francis Scott Key, the Star Spangled Banner officially became the national anthem of the United States of America on March 3rd, 1931 by a congressional resolution signed by President Herbert Hoover.

After watching the bombardment of Fort McHenry from a prison ship, Francis Scott Key wrote the poem titled, “Defence of Fort M’Henry” on September 14, 1814. Thus, 38 years after declaring independence the United States was still at war with England.

In recent history, IHOP restaurants began National Pancake Day in 2006.  Since that day, they have raised $16 million for charities.  Today, people from around the country will once again celebrate National Pancake Day at IHOP restaurants and enjoy free short stack of pancakes.  Guests are asked to consider leaving a donation for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

Sometimes freedom is a long fight. And sometimes you can enjoy your labor and give back at the same time.
