MATTHEW 28:1-20 POST RESURRECTION MINISTRY OF JESUS.
In the end of the Sabbath, as it began to dawn towards the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other mary to see the sepulchre.
vs. 2. and behold there was a great earthquake: for the Angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it. Vs. 3. his countenance was like lghtning, and his railment white as snow.
Vs. 4. And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men.
Vs. 5. And the angel answered and said unto the women. Fear not for I know that ye seek Jesus which was crucified. vs. 6 He is not here, for he is risen as he said. Come see the place where the Lord lay.
Vs. 7. And go quickly, and tell his discilpes that he is risen from the dead. And bhold he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him, lo I have told You.
vs. 8. And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great Joy: and he did run to bring disciples word.
vs. 9. And they went to tell his disciples, behold, jesus met them saying, All Hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him. Vs. 10. the Jesus said unto them. Be not afraid: go tell my brethren that nthey go into Galilee, and there shall they see me.
INTRODUCTION: The Book Of Actsprovides the basic history of the spread of Christianity during the. This second part three decades immediately following the death of Jesus Christ. Whereas there are four Gospels of the Life of Christ, there is only One book in the New Testament that traces the expansion of the early Church, Acts has been identified as the povital book of the New Testament.
The Book of acts is part two of a two-volume work addressed to Theophilus. The first volume work addressed to Theophilus. This second part concerns itself with the ministry of the Followers of Christ, The Purpose of the Aurthor was to offer a coordinated account of Christian origins indicating how God had revealed Himself in the work and person of Jesus Christ and through the Church.
ACTS 1:1-26 In the former account [ which I prepared ], O Theophilus, I made [ A cntinous report ] dealing with all the things which Jesus began to do and to teach [ Luke 1:1-4 ]
vs. 2. Until the day when He ascended, after He through the Holy Spirit had instructed and commanded the apostles ( special messengers) whom He had chosen.
vs. 3. To them He showed Himself alive after His passion ( His suffering in the Garden and on the cross ) by many convincing demonstrations [ unquestionable evidences, and infallible proofs], appearing to them during forty days and talking [to them] about the things of the Kingdom of God. Vs. 4. and while being in their company and eating with them, He commanded them not to leave Jerusalem but to wait for what the Father had promised. Of which [ He said ] you have heard He Me speak. Then were there two thieves crucified with him, one on the right hand and another on the left. Vs. 39. And they that passed by reviled him, wagging their heads. vs. 40. And saying, thou that destroyeth the temple, and buildest it in three days, save thyself.
THIRD APPEARANCE OF JESUS TO THE APOSTLES: JOHN 21: 1-17
After these things Jesus shewed himself again to the disciples at the sea of Tiberias; and on this wise showed he himself.
vs. 2. There were together Simon Peter, and Thomas called Dydimus, and nathanael of Cana in Galilee, and the sons of Zebedee, and two other of his disciples. Vs. 3. Simon Peter saith nunto them, I go a fishing. they say unto him, We also go with thee. they went forth, and entered into a ship immediately; and that night they caught nothing.
Vs 4. But when the morning was come, Jesus stood on the shore: but the disciples knew not that it was Jesus. vs. 5. then Jeus saith unto them, Children, have ye any meat ? they answred him, No.
vs. 6. And he saith unto them, Cast the net on the right side of the ship, and ye shall find. They cast therefore, and now they were not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes.
Vs. 7. Therefore the disciple whomJesus loved saith unto Peter, it is the Lord Now when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he girt his Fisher's coat unto him,(or he was necked, and did cast himself into the sea. Vs. 8. And the other disciple came in a little ship for they were not far from land, but as it were two hundred cubits ) dragging the net of fishes.
JOHN 28:19-20 TESTIMONY OF MARY MAGDALENE TO THE RESURRECTION:
vs. 18. Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that he had spoken these things unto her.
vs. 19. Then the same day at evening, being the First day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them Peace Be unto You.
vs. 20. And when he had so said, he shewed unto them his hands and his side. Then were the disciples glad, when they saw the LORD.
vs. 21. Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you, as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.
vs. 22. And when he had said this, he breathed on them the , and saith unto them. Receive ye the Holy ghost: vs. 23. Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remmited unto them. and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained.
FAITH THAT RESTS ON SIGHT. : vs. 24. But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came.
vs. 25. The other disciples therefore said unto him , We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe.
vs. 26. And after eight days again his disciples were within and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you.
vs. 27. Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithles
