Join host Sarah Uthoff as she catches you up on what's going on in Laura Ingalls Wilder fandom during July 2014. It's a busy one with dates on pageants in Walnut Grove, MN, De Smet, SD, and Mansfield, MO. Plus we have two great podcast episodes scheduled this month. Be sure to tune in and check them out.
My guest for 07/30/14 is Sarah DeAnna.
Overcoming childhood poverty and personal tragedy, Sarah DeAnna graduated high school with honors, then put herself through college, graduating early with an International Business Marketing degree.
After college, Sarah DeAnna was “discovered” and went on to become a successful international high fashion model who has appeared in some of the biggest and most influential fashion magazines worldwide, including Vogue, Elle, Marie Claire, Amica, L’Official, and Riviera. She has done runway shows and other events for internationally renowned designers, including Dolce & Gabbana, Versace, Stella McCartney, and others. She has appeared as a model on various TV segments for such stations and shows as TLC, Bravo, MTV, E!. Hollywood Insider, and Good Morning America. Sarah DeAnna is represented by several agencies worldwide.
One of the reasons Sarah DeAnna is so successful in the modeling industry is because of her commitment to a healthy, balanced lifestyle. Sarah DeAnna is fascinated with nutrition and health, and is also committed to compassionate living and spreading the message to women and young girls that beauty radiates from within and that self-love, confidence, and a commitment to health are what make every woman just as gorgeous as any supermodel.
Her 1st book, Supermodel YOU, was released April 1, 2013 and was an instant bestseller.
Today, Sarah DeAnna continues to model and promote the book doing book signings, speaking engagements, and other inspirational things.

It's Monday night and that means a brand new episode of Graphic Policy Radio. Tonight we have a special guest, Sarah Rasher who joins us to discuss all the latest comic related news.
Sarah is an Assistant Professor of Language and Literature at St. Augustine College in Chicago. As co-host Elana puts it, a Doctor of Shakespearology. She's currently working on a book about adaptations of Shakespeare in television, comic books, and video games. Her Twitter is @pas_dechat, although she mostly uses it to talk about sports.
On tonight's episode we chat:
San Diego Comic-Con has come to a close. We talk about the various announcements (or lack thereof) and what stood out amongst the bunch.
Diversity is a popular trend in comics with characters having their gender switched, or mantles being passed to a new generation of heroes that are ethnically diverse. We talk about the seismic change.
We also talk some of the hottest comics out there including Trees, Silver Surfer, Black Widow, and Moon Knight.
Join us as we discuss this and more on tonight's episode!

Sarah Sweeney has always been interested in who people are, and what makes them tick – their story. This is the main reason why she decided to go to the field of social work. She received her bachelor's degree in social work from the University of New Hampshire, and her Masters degree in social work from Tulane University. Your story or your experiences help to shape the way the way that you view the world around you. Her story is not all that different than most, as long and you take the opportunity to scratch below the surface.
Sarah has Cerebral Palsy and with all the trials and triumphs that she has faced she believes that it is important to continue to climb the ladder with determination because that is the only way that change is going to be made. Sarah's ultimate goal is to be able to fulfill her dream of working with children, ultimately children with life changing illnesses or disabilities as well as working closely with their families, because it is important to realize that one's story affects the entire family unit.
