    in Football

On this edition of The Versus Podcast, it's time to have a 'Come to Jesus' moment about Colin Kaepernick and the San Francisco 49ers. Is Kaepernick's future with the franchise in question, or can this organization salvage the quarterback situation and make it work moving forward?

Also, the Oakland Raiders might not be a bad team this year. It's a celebration in the East Bay! Can the Fighting Derek Carr's keep it up?

Finally, we introduce Logan's Lounge onto the podcast, where we use the #AskTVP hashtag and answer absurd questions about Drake vs. Future vs. Meek Mill, blocking and more.

San Francisco 49ers Preview: SGP Two-a-Days

    in Football

The San Francisco 49ers look NOTHING like the team they were even a month ago. Retirements, trades, arrests and the exit of Jim Harbaugh to the University of Michigan, is there any hope for the 49ers to be competitive in a division that has some of the best football teams on the planet?

Charly the 49ers Superfan from Next Fan Up thinks that it is possible for this team to compete in the challenging NFC West.

Aaron Rodgers leads 3-0 Packers against the San Francisco 49ers

    in Sports

Insert your catchy story line right here. This game has a number of fascinating storys to go along with the game. Mike McCarthy was on the San Francisco 49ers staff when they passed up Aaron Rodgers and took Alex Smith with the first pick, in the 2005 NFL draft. Rodgers favorite team growing up was the San Francisco 49ers. He is also a California native. Colin Kaepernick is a Wisconsin native, and has never lost a game to the Packers (3-0 including playoffs). Kaepernicks' single game career highs in passing yards (412) and rushing yards (181) both came against the Packers.

Now that the story lines are out of the way, lets take a look at the keys to the game. Aaron Rodgers has been nothing short of spectacular through the first three weeks of the NFL season (67-91, 771 yards, 10 tds). The offense has taken on a different dimension with the loss of Jordy Nelson, but they have averaged 32 points per game. That is more than double the 15 points per game that the San Francisco 49ers have averaged per game. The 49ers have relied on Carlos Hyde who ranks third, in the NFL, in rushing with 262 yards.

The Packers will have to have excellent lane discipline to contain Kaepernick, and should try to keep him in the pocket. When he breaks the pocket, he can be dangerous with his arm and legs. If the Packers can win at the point of attack, like they did against Seattle and Kansas City, they could make it long day for the 49ers. Rodgers will have to continue using all of his weapons. The short passing game and run after the catch have equated to three victories. The 49ers defense gives up 31 points per game and are allowing 284 passing yards per game. On paper, this is a huge advantage for Rodgers and the Packers offense. To maintain the momentum, the Packers will have to protect the ball and keep the penalties to a minimum.  Listen in to the show to hear who Evan and Troy pick to win the game.

    Mr. C J Brewer San Francisco 49ers

    in Christianity

    Mr. C.J. Brewer Wide Receiver

God has blessed to have C.J. Brewer to come and share with us his football days and things from his past. Where he attended school to where he has landed.I spoke with CJ and ask a few questions about his life and I was surprised at his humble answers. My honest opinion of C.J. is he is a one of a kind man. C.J has a great heart to help low income communities and support at risk youth by sharing and showing he care by speaking with the kids, shaking hands with parents, I made chicken wings and fries for him and Darnelle Mote. He love the homemade brownies. The kids were excited and one uncle bought his nephew two footballs for C.J. to sign. It was a wonderful day.

Brewer also played in the afl. Brewer was given a free agent contract with the San Francisco 49ers of the National Football League, on May 2, 2006. He spent that season on the team's practice squad. However, he missed the 2007 season after tearing a ligament in his right knee. He was waived by the team after the 2008 season.
