Reiki for Alzheimer’s, Depression, Anxiety, Caregiver Stress, Pain
Scientific validation of the effectiveness of Reiki has helped bring this method more and more to the mainstream, where it is able to aid patients in many realms. There are several vital areas where Reiki and other touch/energy therapies significantly aid people with dementia and their caregivers. The first is that there is an indication from published, peer-reviewed research that Reiki can help address memory issues in people with mild cognitive impairment and mild Alzheimer’s.
There are also several other published studies that demonstrate that Reiki helps both depression and anxiety both among people with chronic medical issues, as well as in those do not. One of the often reported outcomes of Reiki treatment is a state of calm relaxation. In that dementia patients can have problems with agitation, Reiki’s calming influence can be greatly appreciated.
Dementia patients often have other significant medical issues that might cause them to experience chronic or episodic pain. Using narcotic medication in people with cognitive impairment can make that impairment worse, so finding effective non-narcotic interventions that reduce pain can be vital. Several research studies studies show that pain can be significantly reduced through the use of Reiki, both in cases where the pain is chronic and short-term.
Caregiver stress and burn out is another vital area where Reiki can help. Nurses have added Reiki to their work in large numbers, and studying then as a population prone to burn out and compassion fatigue has demonstrated that Reiki can help prevent and heal caregiver stress and overwhelm. This is particularly true when caregivers use Reiki for self-help on a regular basis.

SPECIAL TOPIC Night - "For Our Kids" - Deborah Maddison, and Tracy Baxter, Canadian activists from British Columbia, will lead the this evening's discussion about the Rights of Children and Families in North America. A growing number of parents have lost their children after being falsely accused of child abuse and even imprisoned for crimes they didn't commit. Many of these cases only occur after parents mention that their child first became ill after they received a routine vaccination, or if they request a second opinion about a diagnosis or a prescription for their child. Many of them have had the support of other leading experts proving their innocence. Tonight's show will include Connie Reguli from Tennesee, an attorney and founder of the group Innocent Families Against Family Law Corruption. We'll also hear from Terri LaPointe from Alabama, a journalist from Health Impact News. Then Kristi Devine will visit, a representative for the Diegel family from Arizona, whose 2 children are currently being held against their will. Another guest will be Tim Donnelly, California State Assemblyman. Finally, Maryanne Godboldo from Detroit will join us, a mother who withstood a 10-hour confrontation with police and SWAT for refusing to give her daughter a harmful drug. Many children are stolen by the State as a result of "medical kidnapping." ~~ Every two weeks a new THEME will be presented in this series, with frequent special guests speaking from their own experience. ~~ Please see our web page at: www.NAASCA.org/ForOurKids or write to: email@example.com
Our conversation with Janet Richmond tonight is about healing, altered realities we create, and emotional blueprints.
Her site is: www.janetrichmond.com
It is commonly believed that focusing your attention more intently on positive or inspiring thoughts will eliminate the negative in your life. This is not the case. To see where the dilemma lies, it’s important to first understand the nature of thought. Once created, thought energy cannot be destroyed. However, it can be transformed. It can be neutralized into a balanced state: neither ‘good’ nor ‘bad’ but neutral. This eliminates its magnetic charge and renders it harmless.
Neutralizing is the missing piece to the Law of Attraction puzzle and anyone can learn this valuable tool. Since 2006, Janet Richmond has made it her life's work to promote this technique. She offers many ways to begin Neutralizing; from her book CHOICES - Neutralizing Your Negative Thoughts and Emotional Blueprints, to her weekly radio show on Blog Talk radio, Private sessions, Meetups and Catalytic Art. Janet is also finishing her second book, SOUL PSYCHOLOGY, and will be hosting online workshops in the near future.
"I have moved out into the world in order to share the effective ways we can change our lives. I have moved from feeling like a victim to knowing I am the creator of my present and future. It is something everyone can do, no special skills required. Everyone carries all we need inside, the Divine Light (our Pure Soul Essence), which allows us to heal ourselves. I am thrilled to pass this knowledge on to others. Hope is here." Janet Richmond
