    We go into some music history in light of the recent passing of Earth Wind & Fire's Maurice White (December 19, 1941 – February 3/4, 2016).


    Some question whether this death is recieving fair media coverage. One Facebook post from EWF fanpage "The Legendary Earth Wind & Fire stated:


    I'm sitting here going through the New York Daily News and he only received a small article on page 30. A couple of weeks ago when David Bowie and later Glen Frey they both received front page news. I hope the music industry does a better job of paying homage to someone who influenced many a musician. It would be befitting if at the Grammys when they receive the Lifetime Achievement Award they put that as a main part of the show instead of the backdrop as they normally do with this award. No disrespect to Bowie or Frey they deserve that recognition but Maurice does as well.


    We explore the contributions, music and legacy of White, from one of the first of many members of his best-selling band and how they rose to the top to compete with even the Aerosmith, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppellin, and Chicago in terms of sheer record sales, as well as many of the other funk/fusion bands of their era like Rufus, Ohio Players, Funkadelic and Parliament.
