Positively Dee for discussion about HIV/AIDS

    in Social Networking

Join us for HIV/AIDS discussion bringing awareness to the community. Historically, the HIV/AIDS epidemic has affected more men than women. However, if new HIV infections continue at their current rate worldwide, women with HIV may soon outnumber men with HIV. HIV infection impacts a growing number of women in Illinois each year. Nearly 7,000 women in Illinois are currently known to be living with HIV and/or AIDS. Many hundreds of other women are probably living with HIV even though they are unaware of their own infection. HIV/AIDS disproportionately impacts African-American women in Illinois and the United States. Nationally, HIV infection is the leading cause of death for African-American women between the ages of 25 and 34. In Illinois, the number of HIV cases among African-American women continues to climb. Roughly 68 percent of Illinois women living with HIV are African American, while African Americans only make up 15 percent of the Illinois population. Caucasian women account for 16 percent of Illinois women living with HIV, while the Caucasian population represents more than 73 percent of Illinois residents. Latina women represent roughly 11 percent of the HIV/AIDS cases in women, while 13 percent of the Illinois population is Latino. Roughly 4 percent of women with HIV are from Native American, Asian, Pacific Islander and other communities. Women in their 30s are the most likely to be living with HIV/AIDS, and almost all Illinois women living with HIV are between the ages of 20 and 50.

The Barbershop~ Civil unrest, ruin & redemption?... What's Next!

    in Lifestyle

    5/03/15
Civil unrest,  ruin,  & redemption?. .. The day after the riot,  when the ashes settle, WHAT NEXT?
The Baltimore Riots have opened several doors of conversation in America in general--and Black America in particular. Are the rioters to be condemned as criminals--or revered as rebels? Is this an act of balancing the scales, or giving the enemy material? Is this rioting part of the American tradition of violence and property damage? Does the media look at Black rioting for justice and protest differently than it does white rioting over sports and rock music? Does rioting help the cause of awareness--or hinder it? And what are the solutions to the problems of Baltimore and other cities? We will discuss all of it this Sunday: in The Barbershop!

Live Chat:Pros & Cons of Religion is it a danger to society, who does it benefit

    in Music

    adapted from  MrsCammelspit

If God is infallible, why didn't he make the people who wrote the scripture more clear about the definitive rules and guidelines? Why cause such chaos, a line in the sand even when people believe in the same root faith?

Every religion  interpreted the bible with their own preconcieved morality" how can anyone want to be a part of something that just seems so... confusing?

    Believers consider as pros

    - Calming the fear of death and the positivity of a new beginning after death.

    - Giving hope when you are in a place where you feel hopeless.

    - Strength to continue through harsh events through prayer and fellowship.

    - Knowing your place in life/ Being assured that you are being led positively, even through hard times.

Closer look .... Human Rights Violations.  child abuse sexually, physically, and mentally is rampant in all religion to some extent as they form the minds to accept and believe in them. Prostitution in the Hindu culture, arranged marriages to young girls. Bodily integrity violations of baby boys and African girls entering womanhood. Not helping rape victims, even calling THEM the criminal. Deaths for being homosexual, for being a different religion, for not covering up enough or for criticizing a religion. My touch on Voo-Doo is the horrendous things they do to the Albino africans. They are essentially cut apart and cold on the black market. Mostly children.

SMB Entertainment Radio - Queen Mother of Afro Beat Speaks

    in Entertainment

Discrimination!!!  I was shocked by ?#‎BRAVO? TV watching the ?#‎Prancing? Elite. My heart went out to these young men, all they want to do is dance in the Parades. For my Christian friends, God does not like for you to JUDGE or discriminate against another human being. You may not agree with their life style but who are you to judge, condemn, and discriminate? All I saw was beautiful young men with a Spiritual beauty that had heart for positive change in this WORLD. Please let us learn how to live and let live, who are we to Judge? If it does not cause bodily harm then let it be. Acceptance is the key, everyone has a right to be happy. Please join us for this discussion.

Thy Handmaid Is Not A Wicked Woman

    in Christianity

I want to use this motivational outreach to continue to talk about Hannah.  Hannah was a woman that was viewed negatively because she could not bear children.  The ridicule from her rival made her very bitter and she decided to pray to the Lord in her heart to bear a male child to which she would dedicate to the Lord.  After much embarassment and grieving, God blessed Hannah.  Her husband loved her greatly but it did not fully satisfy Hannah because of the jealousy and misery that she endured.  God blessed Hannah in spite of all of her vexation.  That is what I am talking about!

    in Spirituality

Dynamic, exciting, and on fire for life Denise L. Cook, known as The ORACLE, brings insight to the internet. Her new show, The ORACLE Speaks, is a call in radio show. Inspired by the ORACLE's writing and motivated by your input. Whatever the subject, The ORACLE brings knowledge and a personal understanding to the table and leaves you feeling as if you have been hugged from the inside out!

This week's Theme: INSPIRE from The ORACLE Presents Ten Pages But Nothing But The Truth, Vol 5, Truth #2

Be inspired by your G-D, your love of you. Relish in it and share that joy with those you consider family and friends. Strive to inspire in others that which would impress you.

Be inspired in the spirit of the Universe, that your very existence is cause and effect of a perfect plan. Be inspired in the knowledge of a source greater than you and I, taking head to step up when called on.

Inspire in others the overstanding that inspiration is fed from with-in; once an idea grabs hold, that's half the struggle. To win, one must simply be inspired by the hope of winning the prize at the end. Be inspired to inspire someone else, daily. Can you imagine all that positive energy created, from all that inspiration to do well? Wow!

Understanding the growth cycle of Sympathy to Compassion to Rapport

    in Spirituality

We know our world is stressed. We desire to live in peace. This reality seems to be a dream that turns out to be so difficult to attain. Why? What is the seed cause for our poor outcome when our desire and passion for peace is so strong?

From a SELFGnosis recognition the peace conundrum is resolved by restoring a lost ability that flows from our Human Spirit, the Essence of what makes us human. What specifically is that ability?

It is our ability to Love one another as ourself. And that translates into emotional skills of sympathy, compassion, and the elevated expression of being able to communicate with genuine caring rapport.

Rapport is a listening, loving, caring ability. Let's talk about this cycle of growth and how you can make it your growth into an ability. It all starts with clarity of understanding this cycle.
