Sagging Pants: A Fashion Statement Or A Badge of Shame?

    in Women

"Sagging" is now a popular look for many urban young men, but some have become fed up with exposed underwear and buttocks. Legislators have proposed that sagging pants be made a criminal offense, punishable by fines. Many realize that this fashion statement was born out of prison culture where wearing pants hanging under ones rear end is an invitation for anal sex. Is sagging a fashion statement or a badge of shame? Do we discourage it by making it illegal? Or will that just criminalize young men even more? Performing artist Karima Muhammad, sister of the late James Brown, is continuing the family legacy of socially conscious music with her tune "PULL UP YOUR PANTS" which is designed to influence young people through the effective means of dance music with a social message.

Grief Diaries Radio featuring award winning comedian Carol Scibelli

    in Lifestyle

Widowed in 2006, award winning comedian and New York City playwright Carol Scibelli penned her memoir Poor Widow Me (Pigeon Press, 2011) about the humerous side of widowhood. Regarding the loss of her beloved husband of 33 years, Scibelli writes, “While I was waiting for his death to sink in, I’d sit on the floor of my closet, talking directly to my husband’s shirts and pants.  They were unresponsive, but I knew in my heart that his Dockers missed me very much, too.”

Carol's often blogs about her life as a widow and her essays have been published in The New York Times, Newsday, and dozens of other publications for which she has received several awards.  She is a member of the New York Friars Club, an association of comedians and celebrities, where she heads the “Meet Your Fellow Friars” committee and writes for their newsletter, Friar’s Epistle.  She is also a founding member and Director of  Programs for the nonprofit Manhattan Playwrights, Inc.

Join hosts Lynda Cheldelin Fell & Angie Cartwright as they talk with Carol Scibelli about widowhood on Wednesday, March 25, 2015, at www.griefdiaries.com beginning at 6 pm pacific / 9 pm eastern.

Urban Therapy with Sun #124 Keeping It In His Pants. Keeping Her Legs Closed

    in Health

Everybody has a history of doing things that they are not proud of but a lot of people try to sweep it under the rug. A lot of people have a checkered sexual past but once they start having kids they either start getting themselves together and start to change or they conveniently forget many of the things that they used to do especially when their kids start doing some of the same things that they once did.
Let's just get into this. These are the things that will be covered on this show

Are women who were once promiscuous doing so because they were looking for love or were they abused or both? Can they reverse all of that and put it in their rear view mirror and become a good example for young girls coming up?

Is there a sex life that you can't recover from?

Do men who have had sex with hundreds or thousands of women ever be trusted to be monogamous?

Do men who are promiscuous lack respect for women?

Have men who are promiscuous been sexually abused?

How much influence do promiscuous adults have on young adults?

Do people who were once promiscuous learn more about relationships than those who have been monogamous?

Can previously promiscuous adults teach their children how to overcome promiscuity?

Should you be ashamed of your sexual past? Should you try to hide it?

More. There's much much more to this show.

    We ain't playing this time.
