We have SO much to say that it's hard to know where to begin! Gabriela Martina starts our episode on 4/30 at one p.m. Eastern. Her new "No White Shoes" is getting incredible BUZZ - and she's a natural to star in our special Saturday edition of "Hybrid Jazz." Originally from Switzerland, Gabriela received an education in London - but also in her native city of Lucerne. There, she immersed herself in the multi-faceted music scene before heading to Berklee in Boston for more adventures. I must tell you that this amazing talent discovered her calling early in life, as she sang (and yodeled!) in her family's Swiss band. The experiences that she had at home paved the way for connections formed in the States - Gabriela has worked with some heavyweights - as diverse as Meshell Ndegeocello, Jack DeJohnette, and Angelique Kidjo. What a joy to introduce her to you!
Charmaine Clamor is no stranger - many moons ago, yours truly had the opportunity to interview her on "Cool Jazz Conversations." She is a remarkable woman from Subic-Zambales, in The Philippines. Her precious memories revolve around playing the piano while her Mom sang Filipino torch songs and beloved favorites from America. Passion intact, Charmaine made her way to Southern California with a dream of singing and uplifting her country. Somewhere along the way, she ALSO got a Masters degree in Physical Therapy! This "Queen of Jazzipino" has had a handful of albums that have garnered her rave reviews - and we might get some news about an upcoming project when she visits.
In the mix, too, for this glorious gathering for global Jazz: a giveaway! Gregory Porter's new CD before it's released :) "Take Me to the Alley" - autographed - can be yours! All you have to do is LISTEN and you might be the winner! See you in The Chat Room on 4/30!
Dr. Sebastian Gorka is one of the leading authorities on national security, irregular warfare, and democratization. He is also the author of an amazing new book "Defeating Jihad, The Winnable War." This week he joins me live to talk about how we got here, and how to defeat global Jihad. Ray Stevens and Victoria Jackson recently won an award for their movie "Camping Buddies." They both recently sat down to discuss the movie, and we all enjoyed a few laughs. Of course we'll have our weekly Vet's in the Fight segment, and all the latest political news as well. Tune in Saturday at Noon ET, or listen to the archive at your convenience here.

The tearing down of Strongholds
A stronghold is deception that's taken hold in a person's mind. It's an incorrect thinking pattern based on a believed lie. People can get incorrect perceptions of God by listening to Satan as he tells them how God doesn't love them, etc. People can feel like dirty old sinners when they believe Satan's accusations as he continually reminds them of their past (which has been washed away!). Strongholds are based on lies from the devil. They can come in the form of deception or accusations. Accusations always lead to guilt and the feeling of unworthiness, which weighs you down and tears you apart spiritually.
If the enemy has been feeding us a lie, we need to stop eating the lie and start feeding ourselves the truth. The weapon we use to tear down strongholds is found in Ephesians 6:17, "...the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God." A sword is an offensive weapon and is meant to tear down and kill the enemy's troops. Strongholds are the devil's assets in war, and he uses them against us. Take up the sword of the Spirit (God's Word) today, and start slaughtering the enemy's assets that he's been using against you!
The teaching on Strongholds will give you a much better understanding of how strongholds work and how to tear them down.
Satan the god of this World
The Devil doesn’t need to attack those who are lost because they are headed for destruction and they are already on the broad path that leads there and many, not a few, are going down that path (Matt 7:13-14).

Hebrews 12:15, refers to a “root of bitterness” which, if it springs up, will “trouble you, and thereby many be defiled.”
The author of the book of Hebrews uses a “bitter root” as a metaphor for that which would bring harm to the church.
There is a verse in the Pentateuch that closely mirrors the wording in Hebrews. In Deuteronomy 29, Moses reviews the covenant between God and Israel. In this context, he says, “Make sure there is no root among you that produces such bitter poison” (Deuteronomy 29:18). This particular “bitter poison” is idolatry in defiance of the covenant. Throughout the Old Testament, the Hebrew word translated “bitter poison” refers either to the unfaithful (Deuteronomy 29:18;Amos 6:12) or to their punishment (Jeremiah 8:14;9:15;23:15).
“I see that you are full of bitterness and captive to sin” Acts 8:23. Simon’s wickedness was his desire to buy the power of the Holy Spirit, essentially treating God as a commodity to enhance his own career as a magician.
The “bitter root” refers to a source of evil or wickedness within the church.
Hopeton Brown presents Fred Campbell and his new band Skajamz

Fred Campbell started playing congos while he was still in high school. After graduation he stumbled on Kes Chin and there he met Lester Sterlin, Keith Studdart, Winston Turner and Rupert Bent. These musicians would continue to be a part of his musical journey. He then went to CarlosMalcolm and the Afro Jamaican Rhythms. There he recorded songs like Rucumbine, Run For Cover and a mento medley, all with Carlos.
He made the transition to the north coast, playing in the hotels. Here he met and worked with Leslie Butler and his wife Janet, who is an accomplished guitarist. This led to not only playing north coast hotels but top notch clubs in the Bahamas. He returned to Jamaica to play at the Glass Bucket club with an all star band with Ernest Ranglin, Leslie Butler and Roland Alphonso.
Next was his migration to the USA where he gave up music and started a business. After a good and prosperous ten years or so, Fred declared "Now it's my time", and with that, Skajamz was born.Skajamz is his today and tomorrow.
