Rusty Carter Living Legend Shares What It Was Like In THe Fabulous 50's

    in Music

    The Fabulous 50's

Many musical styles flourished and combined in the 1950s, most likely because of the influence of radio had in creating a mass market for music. World War II caused great social upheaval, and the music of this period shows the effects of that upheaval.

    Pop
    Rock and Roll
    Folk
    Country
    Bluegrass
    Blues

All set the stage for the music we listen to today.

Rusty was there and tells all.

    Viki Winterton interviews Russell Lanier!

Russell Lanier is an award-winning, university-educated television news producer. Russell was among the best in his profession garnering top ratings with nearly every show he wrote and produced during his twenty years on the frontlines of broadcast news. Along the way, Russell also developed a journalistic savvy about writing crime stories that intrigued his colleagues -- he seemed to have an insider’s knowledge about street crime.

But it was his secret, double-life that finally caught up with him and kept him from ascending the ladder to big-market success.  While engaging in his passion of gathering the news, Russell became the news… Russell Lanier is an alcoholic and a hard-core drug addict.

Rusty uses the same hard-hitting news writing style in his book, Waiting To Die, Longing To Love that won him top billing in his profession. You will read how he finally finds victory when he comes face-to-face with his demon, addiction in his sixth trip to rehab. He courageously tells the obscene truth about substance abuse. His personal battle will inspire you to take action against the monsters you may feel controlling your life.

It is Russell’s new mission to speak to young people about his experience as an addict and warn them of the perils of experimenting with drugs and alcohol. Rusty Lanier’s message to avoid substance abuse at all costs resonates a truth that is eternal.

The Playoff Push - With Boston's SO loss to Carolina on Tuesday, the Wings' road to the playoffs got a bit easier, but there's still a tough test ahead. How confident are we feeling? Well we do mention unicorn boners and puppy blood.
Datsyuk - The talk of Pavel perhaps wanting to return to Russia has to come up. We'll go over the CBA stuff surrounding the possibilities and also the best and worst-case scenarios.
Prospects Report - The Griffins have clinched a berth of their own and Michelle gives us the full rundown on how the junior Wings are doing, as well as how the rest of the kids in the pipeline who are still active are doing.
Reader Questions - You asked, we answered. As always, the questions are 100% fantastic to about 73% fantastic answers. What can I say? Maybe we were rusty from skipping last week?

Barbara Cave Henricks- Mastering The New Media Landscape

    in Internet

MASTERING THE NEW MEDIA LANDSCAPE: Embrace the Micromedia Mindset by Barbara Cave Henricks and Rusty Shelton

This on demand audio series is a part of the Executive Girlfriends Group Vignette Series. Chicke Fitzgerald interviews Barbara Cave Henricks. The original live interview was 4/1/16.

The giant brands that once dominated the media landscape—Oprah, the New York Times, NPR, CNN—have seen their monopoly on public attention smashed by the Internet and now find themselves competing with individuals and brands in a sea of micromedia: websites, social media, blogs, podcasts, and more.

Ace publicists and marketers Barbara Cave Henricks and Rusty Shelton show that to navigate through this modern terrain, you need to think more like a media executive than a marketer.  The key lies in mastering three crucial categories of media—earned, owned, and rented—and knowing how to integrate each for maximum success. By using this proven strategy, you can create a positive feedback loop that will generate massive momentum and grow a large, loyal audience for your message.

Barbara is President & CEO of Cave Henricks Comunications. Rusty is Founder and CEO of Shelton Interactive.

Celtics Talk Radio episode 128 Celtics try to get by without Jae Crowder

    in Sports

On the last edition of Celtics Talk Radio. The Celtics Talk Crew talked about the Celtics 3 game losing streak. The Celtics had lost to Houston, Indiana and Oklahoma City prior to out last show. More importantly during the game against Houston the Celtics lost small forwards Jae Crowder and Jonas Jerebko. Leaving the Celtics with no options but to play guards against small forwards Paul George (ind) and Kevin Durant (okc) in their matchups vs the Pacers and Thunder which played key roles in their defeats. Since our last show the Celtics have now played the Toronto Raptors twice as well as the Orlando Magic and Philadelphia 76ers. The Celtics after having total control of the 3rd seed fell into a 4 team battle for the 3rd seed after losing those 3 games in a row. So Where do they stand now one week and 4 games later. Meanwhile they got Kelly Olynyk back in the game against OKC. How has he looked over the last week. Is he progressing in his return or is he still looking rusty. Has this past week shown us that there is someone else more important to this team then Isaiah Thomas. Or did the Celtics manage to survive and maintain their hold on the 3rd seed without Jae Crowder and Jonas Jerebko. Are either of them back. We will discuss those stories with our special guest Warren Shaw of the NBA Baseline Podcast on this edition of Celtics Talk Radio

Stacy Pederson holds a BFA in Theatre. She is a professional actress, comedian, author and speaker, who has performed stage, film, commercial, standup comedy, and radio work.  She is the co-founder of The Academy of Children’s Theatre (ACT) in Colorado Springs, as well as Ministry Center for the Arts (MCA).

Stacy is an award winning performer with a unique style of comedy and speaking. She recently won over all the comics in the state of Colorado for "Colorado's Got Talent" 2013 and took second place in the overall competition. Her unique style of comedy interweaves characters, storytelling and stand up. Her humor is witty, creative, clean, professional, and enjoyable for all ages.

Stacy Pederson's stand up comedy and outlook on life began with a diagnosis of a terminal illness with her first husband. Stacy began a difficult journey fraught with failure-including a failed marriage, single parenting, job loss, broken dreams, and financial ruin.

Then in July of 2011, Stacy stepped on a rusty nail while building a set for a kid's musical theatre camp. The simple miss-step caused several bouts in the hospital, near death experiences, and surgery with lifelong repercussions. Stacy now has a deep understanding of the universal need we all have for hope, love, joy, and laughter.

Stacy is now married to the love of her life and best friend, Jeff Pederson, and is the mother of five-yes five-amazing children. They reside in the Colorado Springs, Colorado area. Together Jeff and Stacy speak and perform music & comedy all over the nation, bringing a message of hope, fun and laughter.
