J. Blake Gallimore joins us tonight and we will be premiering several of his poems for you to enjoy (as performed by Viktor Aurelius)!
Here is how he describes himself: I am currently working on two books. One is a short pictorial book, sort of a fun adult (children's book) of sorts entitled "When Dead is Dead" it's a 25 page book that covers all the different ways we can have our lives taken away. Also working on a 75 -100 page book of poems entitled "Therapy for the Mentally Well" - this is a book of poems that I have collected over the past 25 years. It's mainly about the darker sides of my life. I live in west Tennessee. I'm a dialysis technician by day and an avid runner at night. When I'm not running, I write. Both go hand in hand as a means of therapy. I've tried to force good things to come from my writings, but all that tends to leak out are dark and depressed. Thus being where I took the title for my first full book of poems "Therapy for the Mentally Well". I've had several works published but am searching for a publisher at the moment to help further along my career in writing. Help! Let me help others who may be struggling through life by reading my book thus allowing them to know, it's ok to be alone and depressed! Just don't do the un-thinkable.
If you love dark, Gothic, haunting poetry (as I do) you are in for a real treat! This gentleman is very talented! Join us and find out for yourself.

Tired of potato chips and looking for a better snack? Look no further than Keenwa Krunch, containing 100% organic quinoa crisps and flakes, a good source of fiber and 4 flavors: Walnut Date Agave, Vanilla Almond Raisin, Cinnamon Banana Strawberry, and Coconut Cranberry Cashews. Quinoa, gram for gram, is considered one of the most nutritious plant foods on Earth. Originating from the ancient Andean region of South America, quinoa was revered by the Inca and was a staple food in their diet. Fast-forward to the present, and quinoa is a popular super food in the US. Blake Niemann became a fan of quinoa while in college and noticed how energized he felt while eating quinoa on a daily basis. He decided to create a quinoa snack that he could take anywhere. After significant research, eatKeenwa Krunch was launched in 2013, and their first big break came from Whole Foods. I had the opportunity to meet Blake Niemann at the Fancy Food Show in NY this past June. This is the last of a three part series on food entrepreneurs. “What do you need to start a business? Three simple things: know your product better than anyone, know your customer, and have a burning desire to succeed,” said Dave Thomas, Founder of Wendy’s. An entrepreneur is someone who sees an opportunity, sizes up its value, and finds the resources to make it work. Entrepreneurs are typically innovators introducing something new to the marketplace, putting a different spin on a product or a process – and willing to take a risk for their success. Find out from Blake Niemann what it took to launch an innovative new snack food. After the interview, check out After Hours at Jersey Coastal Live for more information.

The Wild Pea. Boy, that's an interesting image, isn't it? The pea is a chick pea, the stuff that hummus is made of. It's wild because there are no limits to what kinds of flavors they'll develop. Founder and owner Blake Wollman thought, "Why can't you make chocolate hummus? Or Bloody Mary? How about cotton candy…? Chocolate? Why not!
He owned The Desert Cafe in Mt. Washington in Baltimore, for over twelve years. By the time he sold the restaurant in May of this year, he had been doing almost all of the cooking and all of the desserts. He started The Blakery – and is that a clever name or what? – to promote his desserts.
His tenure with the restaurant got him interested in hummus, a staple of middle-eastern cuisine. After trying hundreds of flavor combination, he's settled on eight that are always in the lineup, with others - like mojito and carrot cake - rotating in and out.
He's going to talk with us about how this all got started. He's got excellent marketing skills and we'll talk a lot about that. This show promises to be very valuable for all entrepreneurs who are looking to grown their business.
Real artistry is about peeling back the layers of your soul and allowing the creative truth to take form. Russell Taylor taps into that creative space and unlocks a masterpiece in his latest musical offering, War of Hearts, on his own Indigo Blue label.
Far from a novice in the music game, Russell – a self-professed nomad – has poured out his heart and soul on the world stages, including stops in London, Amsterdam and Paris as well as famed stateside venues from The Mint and The Roxy in Los Angeles to SOB’s and Joe’s Pub in New York. Russell’s previous offerings Somewhere In Between(2007) and Confessional, a Soultracks.com ‘must have records’ (2010) – are sprinkled with gentle gems that have satisfied the appetites of music lovers worldwide.
Russell’s (aka Rt!) 3rd studio album “War of Hearts”, includes collaborations with Grammy award winning producer Needlz (Lil’ Wayne, Bruno Mars, Drake, Lupe Fiasco, K Michelle), Tim Kvanosky of Tiny Hearts and Salakida Kali. In early 2014, Russell Taylor becomes the first to win the coveted “You Oughta Know” distinction after beating over four hundred competitors in VH1’s first ever crowd-sourced contest on Artists.VH1.com, VH1’s music discovery site and join the ranks of famous “You Oughta Know” alumni including Adele, Bruno Mars, Ed Sheeran, Lorde, The Lumineers, Mumford & Sons and many more. “An emerging artists with diverse musical influences and incredible talent, Russell Taylor is the embodiment of what the ‘You Oughta Know’ franchise is all about”, said Rick Krim, EVP Music and Talent Programming, VH1.
Russell Means, AIM Co-founder Speaks on Matriarchy
Russell Means has lived a life like few others in this century - revered for his selfless accomplishments and remarkable bravery. He was born into a society and guided by way of life that gently denies the self in order to promote the survival and betterment of family and community. His culture is driven by tradition, which at once links the past to the present.
The L.A. Times has called him the most famous American Indian since Sitting Bull and Crazy Horse. His indomitable sense of pride and leadership has become embedded in our national character. Today, his path has brought him to Hollywood, thus enabling him to use different means to communicate his vital truths. Through the power of media, his vision is to create peaceful and positive images celebrating the magic and mystery of his American Indian heritage. In contemplating the fundamental issues about the world in which we live, he is committed to educating all people about our most crucial battle - the preservation of the earth.
Thirty years ago, reflecting the consciousness of the sixties, he captured national attention when he led the 71-day armed takeover on the sacred grounds of Wounded Knee, a tiny hamlet in the heart of South Dakota's Pine Ridge Reservation. Means joined "The Longest Walk" in 1978 to protest a new tide of anti-Indian legislation including the forced sterilization of Indian women. Following the walk, the U.S. House of Representatives passed a resolution saying that national policy was to protect the rights of Indians, to believe, express and exercise their traditional religions, including but not limited to access to sites, use and possession of sacred objects, and the freedom to worship through ceremonials and traditional rites.
At the end of his celebrated life, with the same passionate determination, he directed his energy towards the entertainment industry.
