SCORE is a national organization dedicated to helping people succeed in business. The chapter serving Volusia and Flagler counties in Florida is score87.
SCORE chapters provide face-to-face mentoring and free workshops to people in their geographic area, however, by using the internet, counsellors are able to work with people outside their geographical area, so the most qualified counsellors can work with the most interested people.
While the national organization celebrates it's 51st year, score87 is celebrating it's 50th.
Tom Hellman is the current president. Bill Roy is the most active member. There are more than twenty mentors, each will be on to talk about their area of expertise.
This show is produced and hosted by Ken English.
Author David Bianchi Explains Why He Wrote BLUE CHIP KIDS, What Every Child and Parent Should Know About Money, Investing and the Stock Market
It's not surprising that most teens know more about social media than they do about basic financial skills. On April 1st, we have a special interview with a father who was frustrated by the lack of "entertaining" financial teaching materials for his 13-year-old son. That's why attorney and investor David W. Bianchi wrote:BLUE CHIP KIDS: What Every Child and Parent Should Know About Money, Investing, and the Stock Market. His new book demystifies the basic principles about money matters and provides a much-needed introduction for children (and their parents) to the financial world around them.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN ABOUT BLUE CHIP KIDS:
Paying for things (checking accounts, credit and debit cards & electronic bill pay)
Understanding currencies, the Euro, Bitcoins and exchange rates
Budgeting and debt, financial statements and net worth
How to teach your kids about dividends, yields, puts and calls
The basics of buying and selling stocks
Bianchi is a Miami, Fla., attorney who is the former chairman of GnuBIO Inc., a DNA sequencing start-up, a board member of Affomix Corporation, an antibody start-up and vice-chair of Florida Savings Bank. For more info, go to www.bluechipkids.com.

In this episode of The Red Light Sports Ramble, presented by The Red Light Sports Network, Evan Witalison and Troy Otradovec spend some time talking NFL football. The heavy rush of free agency has come and gone, but teams are still signing players. The Green Bay Packers added some depth at defensive line, resigning B.J. Raji and Letroy Guion.
Raji missed all of the 2014 season, with a torn biceps injury. Guion had a solid year, and may have exceeded expectations. However, he some off the field issues, in the off season. Those charges were dismissed, and the Packers are willing to give him another chance. Both players signed one year contracts. Raji will make $3.5 million, while Guion receives $2.75 million. With incentives Raji could make up to $4 million with incentives. Guion could make $3.25 million, if he meets all of the incentives. Do you think that Packers made a good choice, with these signings? Listen in and call the show with your thoughts.
