    St. Joan de Lestonnac

    in Religion

Rebroadcast of the long running radio program, "The Ave Maria Hour", a presentation of the Franciscan Friars of the Atonement. www.AtonementFriars.org

St. Joan de Lestonnac was born in Bordeaux, France, in 1556. She married at the age of seventeen. The happy marriage produced four children, but her husband died suddenly in 1597. After her children were raised, she entered the Cistercian monastery at Toulouse. Joan was forced to leave the Cistercians when she became afflicted with poor health. She returned to Bordeaux with the idea of forming a new congregation, and several young girls joined her as novices. They ministered to victims of a plague that struck Bordeaux, and they were determined to counteract the evils of heresy promulgated by Calvinism. Thus was formed the Congregation of the Religious of Notre Dame of Bordeaux. In 1608, Joan and her companions received the religious habit from the Archbishop of Bordeaux. Joan was elected superior in 1610, and many miracles occurred at her tomb. She was canonized in 1949 by Pope Pius XII.

Pro-Life center to offer abortions - You got mansplaining to do Joe

    in Politics

Hr1   California bill AB775 is trying to force pro-life pregnancy counseling centers to offer abortion information.

Curtis Ellis says, imagine a world where American courts and laws are overruled by international tribunals (who are not elected by American citizens!)... That's Obama's plan with Obamatrade (TPP). TPP is the new NAFTA and the latest "we have to pass the bill so you can know what's in it." CALL YOUR REPRESENTATIVES!

Congratulations! California honored to be the worst state to do business 11 years running! The Democrats policies at work.

Hr2  We pause for a little humor (that hits too close to home) Muslim world reacts to Obama's speech on climate change being the biggest global threat.

U.S. military says reaction times are seriously delayed because their hands are tied. They can't move as quickly as they need to to address threats. This is a problem!

Feminists will find offense in anything, especially if it encourages man-bashing. First it's manspreading, now it's mansplaining.

Transgender Canadians are pushing to abolish gender references from birth certificates. You can't just make an assumption based on a quick peek at a baby's privates anymore!

Hr3  Salon says our U.S. Military is a national security threat. Thank God (and our military!) for free speech. In other countries, they'd be wiped out or jailed!

Actress tells Teen Vogue that Planned Parenthood felt like “two arms pulling me into a hug” and that she's “eternally grateful” for the experience.

Unions want an exemption from the minimum wage increase. Shocker! What a bunch of hypocrites!

Have you had your healthy dose of reality lately?

A Better Person As President Is On Blog Talk Radio At 5:30pm - Curtis Clinton

    in Elections

The Title says it. Why? It makes sense. I come from your place, or very close to it, Even if we are at odds we are closer than others. I am not campaigning for your money, am not a Politician, will be among the best smart Commander-In-Chiefs, even protecting our military men and women. What are your problems or worries. They are many of mine because many of them touch me or have touched me, touched my family and people we know and don’t know. I know an unknown person has no chance to be seen by you. I know that its stupid to do this, and it even looks more stupid. But it’s not that stupid when you consider all the stupid things that are going on right now or that have just happened. Please see me in a better smart light. I say things that you may not like or want to hear. But they are for our own good, They need to be said and brought to light and right. There are some fancy people running for President. I am not one of them. I am one among us, if you can understand that in all its fullness. It is surmised that when you reach the White House, things change you. Except for becoming better, I will not change the good, right, smart within me or what must and should be done. For all, I want much better for you: people, animals, our earth. The White House belongs to you, with a person of the people, ordinary if necessary and not to a Political Party. If you see it that way, could you and will you put together 120,000,000 Write-In Ballots for a Presidency being for us, with just one of us in there seeing to a better United States and for Americans of all blood types of O's, A's and B's. If that many are cast, we will not have a divided country or Congress. One willing caring for all doing person can start a better world. You can begin with such a President. This idea is for you, not me. thanks, bwell, c2it, i am often called c2, Curt Clinton

An Ever-Changing World--Live With The Rayfords

    in Lifestyle

We know that history repeats itself and it would seem that the more the world changes (societal outlooks and perceptions), the more it stays the same or regresses.

People are in constant uproars over things that have been settled in Heaven a long time ago. God knows what He intended marriage to be; He said what He meant and meant what He said. Nothing anyone does--not the Supreme Court--or anyone else is going to change that. So, can we move on?

Children are dying at the hands of their parents, daily.

Education in America is a joke and every other nation is outperforming our students. In Michigan, the graduation rate is up, but graduates are reading at a fourth-grade level. Where is the improvement in that scenario? Testing does not teach and all standard testing should be banned until the tenth-grade--when it will matter and students have enough time to fix what they don't know.

Parents avoid parenting their children and children are running their owns, leaving parents looking stupid because of either their fear to correct them or their negligence in not caring enough to correct and discipline them.

Senior Citizens are being nailed to the wall when it comes to medical attention and being able to eat healthy.

The unemployment rate while down, still leaves people working at laughable wages.

Believers are fearful instead of loving and not many are in relationship witih God.

    Racism is alive and well!

These are the things which should concern us because we can change them. Speak up, America with your vote in 2016!

Thanks for tuning into our episode and if you want to be heard, call us at 619-638-8499 if not, archives are available 24/7.

Books by Mary M. Hall-Rayford can be found on Amazon.com--just type in her name in the search box.

God bless your every endeavor that honors Him in all things.

Yeldon as a fantasy value, and the Matt Jones hype. The guys also weight in on the fantasy impact of the NFL's new extra point rule. Spoiler alert: there isn't any impact.
