Birthing in the early 1960s with such works as Astro Boy and Gigantor, the art of Japanese animation arrived on domestic shores not long after. Things would change radically as we moved into the 1970s and such widely beloved cult series as Yamato (Star Blazers), Gatchaman (Battle of the Planets) and Macross (Robotech), even in their somewhat bowlderized and sanitized variants aired Stateside, blew the minds of kids accustomed to Hanna Barbera/Filmation/Warner Brothers style fluff with their comparative realism and mature themes (inclusive of such heady matters as interracial relationships, real-world style romances, character deaths and more)!
Becoming a genuine underground cult craze among the youth of the 1990's, such late 70's/80's era space operas as Mospeada, Megazone 23, Dirty Pair and Bubblegum Crisis were joined by the syndicated television likes of Rumiko Takahashi (Urusei Yatsura, Ranma 1/2), Akira Toriyama (Dragonball), Voltron and Naoko Takeuchi (Sailor Moon), opening the floodgates for a proliferation of anime magazines, late night/Saturday AM blocks on networks like TBS, TNT and Sci-Fi Channel, and entire stores dedicated to the sale of anime and related materials.
With the dawn of "meta" series such as Neon Genesis Evangelion, the "harem anime" (starting with Tenchi Muyo) and crossovers to the tabletop and videogame RPG (Slayers, Dragon Half, etc.), anime went from comparative obscurity and often isolated, small-scale fanbases to a global phenomenon overnight.
Join us as we talk the days of actual hand drawn, boundary-pushing animation, with nigh-adversarial relations between original language subtitle fans and the dubbing-only crowd, where fans would gather together based on a dawning appreciation of what remains many steps above the standard domestic, toddler oriented cartoon.

Pack Dynamics -
After seven horrific months as a POW, Army Ranger-turned-PI Ben Lockwood just wants a safe, boring life. With his boss on vacation, he takes what looks like an easy case of pharmaceutical espionage he can work from his desk.
Now he's caught in a three-way collision course between a ruthless werewolf on the hunt for a cure for his dying vampire wife, a mad scientist whose multinational company doesn't even research supernatural medicine--and himself. Ben's nanotech-injected blood holds the key to the vampire's recovery, and the werewolf doesn't much care if he lives or dies in the harvesting.
Ben thought he was done fighting wars when he got home from Afghanistan, but his hard-won sanity and his girlfriend's life are both at risk. He'd rather die than lose either. The battle lines are drawn in a billionaire's basement, and retreat isn't an option. No matter how outgunned he is.

The Dungeon Crawlers Radio teams welcomes the creators of the Pulsar RPG thats available on Kickstarter now.
Pulsars is a tabletop role playing game set in a universe where dedicated soldiers gain access to powered suits of armor that grant them strange and phenomenal abilities. These soldiers, known as Pulsars, take on the forces of the great Enemy and his minions in a struggle to protect the galaxy.
In the game, you are a member of the Pulsar Corps: a line of galactic defenders who are humanity's best chance for survival in a war that has waged for over a century. As a Pulsar, you are given a Suit, an amazing piece of technology that allows for one person to stand against a legion of foes and increases their physical and mental abilities. The Suit will exemplify whatever made you exceptional before, turning you into an epic level defender of the galaxy.
A warrior becomes even faster and stronger, their weapons become more accurate. A crime scene investigator has their Suit hardwired directly into their brain, allowing them to analyze evidence found at a crime scene instantaneously as well as having multiple databases downloaded into their brain for information. A field surgeon may have a suit that automatically sterilizes the environment and can produce simple compounds to aid in healing wounds, or generate the tools needed to treat broken bones.
