In the world of fantasy role playing games or any other type of gaming, how can game creators best convey Native culture without lapsing into stereotype? How can they best do it with respect and accuracy? We talked with Shanna Germain Monte Cook Games - creators of Dungeons and Dragons style RPG "The Strange." Creators have agreed to make positive changes when they were criticized as portraying Indigenous people in a stereotypical way.
We commend Monte Cook Games for their desire to work with the Native community in order to show the world Native people are most than just a stereotype.

So many of my memories revolve around running and playing table top RPG's with my friends. We tried so many of them, Traveller, D&D, Pathfinder, Gamma World, Chill, Vampire and the list goes on and on. But, the game I think my friends remember the most are the one's that weren't from the Big Box companies but were actually, new idea's crafted from a love of the games themselves more so than the almighty dollar. Tonight we are going to hopefully make you feel the same way, our special guest Brennan Taylor has been running, playing and writing RPG's for the last 20 years. He is the president of Galileo games which has published some amazing award winning RPG's that you may have never heard of. THAT'S ALL ABOUT TO CHANGE!!! By time this show is over we hope to have you looking into alternate choices for your verses and trying things that will not only spice up your time playing but also give you that thrill you and your group had the first time you tried a whole new system...
So take off your boots and leave them outside, grab a bevvie, find a chair, lower the lights, quickly while no one is looking grab yourself to be sure it's all there and then relax, the Den is about to take you on an adventure...far, far away....
In this day and age, in the greatest nation on earth the fact we have to sit here and discuss this issue is INSANITY to us. Indiana's Govenor has passed a piece of legislation so crazy that the whole internet is buzzing about it and kids...so are we. As majority members of what was once a counter culture we owe it to our brothers and sisters to understand this new law and help decide if it is something we as comsumers can live with? Many major corporations are saying no...what about you.
And don't panic. We've got news about National Tabletop day, what's going on at stores near and around you. We are also going to speak about the new practice of early release and what does the word "early" really mean plus a shit load of other stuff....so you know what to do. Get in your yoga pants...and, and, well...let's talk about that after the show...Until then...It's time for the Wolfs Den!
