KICKING BACK & LOOKING BACK: Through My Rear View Mirror
The last couple of weeks in the calendar year is the time that many of us start thinking about our own personal year in review.
We get out our list and determine if it's been a "good" or "bad" year based on our accomplishments at work, our relationships with family and how, how much weight we've lost, or how many dollars we have in the bank. But not for Tamarra! She started out with intentions and no “list”.. and what’s transpired over this past year has been nothing short of amazing. It’s been a tremendous year of confusion and enlightenment, losses and gains, hard work and no work... all to culminate into a life well lived with blessings, gratitude and abundance.
Come join Tamarra and her host Ben Carter in this journey of discovery! Feel free to enhance the experience with your comments or questions by dialing 347-857-2878 anytime during the broadcast.
“See” you there!

MEL CARTER BIO: Carter recorded for Sam Cooke's SAR record label in the early 1960s. He had his first hit in 1962 at the age of nineteen with "When a Boy Falls in Love", which was co-written by Cooke.
By the time he reached his commercial peak with Imperial Records in the middle of the decade, he was specializing in pop ballads. His biggest success was the Top 10 Billboard Hot 100 hit, "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me," which reached Number 8, in 1965. It sold over one million copies, and was awarded a gold disc. He had a couple of other Top 40 entries over the next year, "Band of Gold" and "All of a Sudden My Heart Sings", as well as a few other easy listening sellers.
Carter appeared on the DVD of the PBS special, Doo Wop 51, recorded in 2001 performing his hit.
Carter later acted on television programmes such as Quincy, M.E.,Sanford and Son, Marcus Welby, M.D.and Magnum, P.I..
Going away to college is a time in a young persons' life that should be about discovery, learning, and making lifelong friends. However, as parents send their children away from home, some for the very first time, there is even more to be anxious about, especially their safety on campus.
According to the Justice Department, "1 in 5 women will be a victim of rape or attempted rape." When these incidents occur on campus property they are in the jurisdiction of campus police, and many victims do not report, or are discouraged to report by school administrators.
With sexual assaults, active shooters, and luring into human trafficking from our college campuses, the college experience has changed.
Guest for the hour S. Daniel Carter will discuss these issues and what is being done to create real, enforceable guidelines for campuses to follow in order to make the environment safer for students everywhere.
The reverberations from the Richmond County Grand Jury’s decision not to indict Daniel Pantaleo, of the NYPD, continue to be felt.
While protests on behalf of Eric Garner and Michael Brown, have been largely peaceful, if not very inconveniencing for New Yorkers, there have been sporadic instances of violence,
During a protest on the Brooklyn Bridge last Saturday, two men, both white, one a college professor, allegedly triggered a melee and assaulted police.
In the meantime, the events and reactions from that fateful day has caused tension between Mayor DiBlasio and the head of the Patrolman’s Benevolent Association, Patrick Lynch, who has accused the mayor of making remarks that are disrespectful of the police.
In fact, some of the NYPD have supported a pledge to disinvite the Mayor to their funerals.
On the international front, Barack Obama has decided to establish diplomatic and economic relations with Cuba, citing that the embargo, in place since 1961, has “not worked”.
Again, as expected, the reactions vary, with intense criticism from Sens. Marco Rubio Robert Menendez, both of whom are of Cuban heritage.
On the other hand, Jimmy Carter praised Obama’s “political courage”. Perhaps he sees this as a sort of redemption from the Mariel Boatlift?
I wonder out loud, what this means for black people economically, with an anticipated influx of Cubans to this country, just 90 miles away.
For those old enough to remember, this conjures memories of the Bay of Pigs (1961) and Cuban Missile Crisis (1962).
By the WAY, Obama says that black people are “better off” (HE said it, NOT me!)
So be prepared to discuss these pointed issues on the Critical Discourse University of the Blogosphere.

Meeting Fascinating People with Intriguing Brands sets the stage for your brand creation!
Our KTR Guest is a young dynamic, game-changing, out spoken artist named Tristin Carter better known as Yung Teeze or for short YT, was born in Fredrick Maryland on January 19 1996 he started out as a young poet shy and quiet but soon the fact he was always around brothers who performed and wrote music on the side,he quietly began to write his own lyrics until one day he finally came out with his rapping and singing talent. Now a full time artist he is dedicated to the RnB and Rap game determined to never stop until he makes it big. Some would describe him as the "Next-Generation of Entertainment" with a rapping type that plays off the skill of many of his predecessors and legends in the game, his niche is the stone cold fact that his lyrics do not condone profanity a skill which has been lost in today's style of rap, always hungry for new opportunities and virtual mountains to climb YT immersed himself in his music becoming able to work in many different genres including but not limited to, Pop, Rock, Dance, Edm, Jazz funk, Neo soul, Alternative and many more. At the tender age of 16 he began producing and managing artists he met in school, who didn't have the means or drive to do so themselves which quickly sparked an idea in this young mans mind. To go where no one else has gone and make waves in the game by going for what so many artists nowadays look over, The Youth. And so he began to form Next-Generation.Ent, not just an independent label that's for the people but a movement spanning across the globe from London to Hollywood to unite the youth of the earth to stand for their musical right to express themselves by any means necessary.
