Luca Mosca was born and raised in Northern Italy; first, at the insistence of his family, Luca studied pharmacy but after completing his medical education, he pursued his vocation: fashion. Inspired by "silent mentors" Mugler, Montana and Gaultier, Luca worked as a fashion designer at Zamasport, Italy’s top couture production company, which was creating collections for Helmut Lang, Gucci, Romeo Gigli, Norma Kamali, Katharine Hamnett, Costume National. In 1994, Luca Mosca moved to New York and after designing for American fashion companies, together with designer Marco Cattoretti he founded his own fashion brand LUCA+MARCO, a label very much in demand in the high end boutiques of Europe, Asia and America. In the mid-90’s Luca and Marco were offered to design the costumes of a small feature film and that opportunity started a successful costume design career.Currently, Luca Mosca is mostly designing costumes for film and TV; his passion for fashion is still strong and he is planning to combine fashion and film in a complete way. On top of the enthusiasm for his work, Luca is very proud to offer his clients inspired costume interpretations based on high taste level, knowledge of the garment and costume construction, capacity to adjust to the most different and demanding projects and work environments and balanced combination of team work and leadership skills. Losing relationships, both family and friends, is a common result of brain injury and it is devastating to survivors and their caregivers, as well. Troop and survivor, Juliet Madsen, and Lisabeth Mackall, therapist and caregiver for her husband, join me to discuss the topic of "Where Have All My Friends Gone." We'll examine the reasons why some people just can't stick it out and try to shed some light on how folks can keep their relationships alive with their brain-injured friends.
Every TBI survivor and caregiver has encountered a fork in the road that has diverted his or her life-plan. A car accident, a fall from the roof, doing one more chin-up, or a door literally slamming one in the face are just some causes of traumatic brain injury. College plans, walking down the aisle in the perfect dress, or the coveted job quickly slip from reality as dreams turn to struggle. These unexpected life-happenings that divert one from his or her chosen path in life can be devastating. But as Yogi Berra once said, "If you come to a fork in the road, take it." Life is all about choices!

It has been a profound honor to have had Ken Navarro on the show a number of times. Each time, it seems as though we offer music to you that is a step above any other music that we COULD feature on "Hybrid Jazz." Ken's canvas is always brilliantly and serenely painted - with the added (and unbelievable!) touch this time: he is - and this is taken from his website: "performing and composing for EVERY instrument." Now, ponder that. Already a Master Guitarist - and he has tackled all other instrumentation for "Unbreakable Heart." Stunning news!
Hopefully, you know that Ken Navarro was a popular session guitarist in Los Angeles. He's based in Maryland now, but he built a foundation in L.A. that was wide - with long-time ripple effects. Everybody in Contemporary Jazz knows of Ken Navarro. And the music that he has created - or re-created - has been a source of continual interest for over 25 years. Top-charting albums, Top Five songs, Grammy buzz - not to mention that Ken has produced a number of folks and propelled the careers of others.
We have been so impressed - millions of us - starting from "The River Flows" in 1990 (Ken's debut) - then (among others!) "Love Coloured Soul" and "The Grace of Summer Light" and "Dreaming of Trains." Two albums ago: "The Test of Time" - followed by "Ruby Lane." "Unbreakable Heart" is Ken's 22nd album! If you have heard ANY of it, you're already smiling :) What an absolute thrill to hear the song, "Juliet" - about Ken's first granddaughter. Or his loving tribute to the late Robin Williams - a song called "Robin Fly Away."
We'll delve into three tracks on Tuesday's show - 8/25. This will also be the anniversary of "Hybrid Jazz From Trish Hennessey!"
