The Frat House Sports Show #207

    in Sports

You can start to feel it in the air because the return of real NFL action is getting closer every day! Get in the "House" this Thursday evening beginning at 7pm as the fellas "tackle" the preseason storylines all over the league and they're hoping to hear from YOU too, at: 347-826-9964.

In the first hour, the guys are joined by J.T. Thomas of Rank Top-5 Sports Talk Network to discuss the current state of the Chicago Bears and how new coach John Fox can revitalize the club. Is a 3-13 record really all fans should expect in 2015, and what is there to like about Jay Cutler? Our "man-on-the-ground" J.T. offers his analysis.

Then, the boys welcome in Greg Peterson of WNSR Sports Radio 560AM / 95.9FM to offer his assessment on the 2015 Tennessee Titans, the power-duo QB tandem of Marcus Mariota & Zach Mettenberger, and whether the early "good" reviews will last all season.

Also in the mix: *Life-coaching skills for you (& crew) demonstrated by 2 fall guys. *Are there really more than perhaps 15 good QBs in the league? *Speaking of bad, how did the Geno Smith situation go so horribly wrong? *With every team sitting at 0-0-0, let's predict how week 17 will end up.

You just know that Matt DiBiase will join in with his NHL/NBA chat segment, and the conversations are bound to go in just about any direction, so get in the conversation by calling in your questions/opinions to: 347-826-9964 tonight from 7-9 PM.

  • The ANDREA SHEA KING SHOW

    in Politics Conservative

There’s more to this than “thin skin”.  Rupert Murdock is out to destroy Trump, and I believe Trump is well aware of it.  Thus, he’s bashing Megyn Kelly to send a signal to Murdock.  Back off!   The headline today read: "Michael Bloomberg 2016? Rupert Murdoch wants former NYC mayor run against Trump." I suppose you could look at it both ways — Trump’s a pugnacious fighter and likes to land the first and last punch.  OR — he’s thin skinned.  Which do you think it is?

Biden's on the move and Hillary's on the ropes.  And Trey Gowdy says his teenage son could have Hillary's emails printed off this afternoon.  What's the delay?  Just another day in the lives of the rich and nasty...

Plenty to jabber about tonight.  You in?

The guys also welcome in special guest Tony Sciarratta, columnist for GMenHQ.com, to break down how the NY Giants will handle the pending contract extension for franchise QB Eli Manning, whether the "G-men" will really be a force in the NFCE (apart from Cruz & Beckham, Jr how many other weapons does the team have?), and how does JPP's absence affect the team (or not)?

In other conversation, the guys wonder: What is the value of 4 preseason games? Between Brady & Roger, who holds the best cards if Judge Berman goes "all-in" on a decision? What should be made of the Geno Smith incident and should NY Jets' fans be happier without him? Caleb will offer up valuable "Frankly Fantasy" advice, while Matt will bring 5 things you need to know from the NHL.

NFL's Real Problem Resurfaces, Bears To Start Amos, Cubs Rotation In Trouble

    in Sports

Former Bears quaterback Erik Kramer's suicide attempt is the latest in a long, sad line of NFL players dealing with post-career depression stemming from recurring head trauma.  While Roger Goodell and the NFL are keeping themselves busy with Tomy Brady and the Deflategate scandal, the real problem of retired players dealing with the effects of CTE continues to slip through the cracks (or purposefully ignored).

The Bears had two joint practices with the Indianapolis Colts this week prior to their preseason game on Saturday.  Jay Cutler wishes his top receivers were there and gave credit to the Colts for "winning the day" on Wednesday.  Meanwhile on defense, Adrian Amos will start at free safety Saturday, having leapfrogged 2nd year player Brock Vereen on the team's depth chart.  Will Amos win the starting job, and what's the deal with the Bears starting so many rookie safeties?

The Cubs begin a 4 game series against the Atlanta Braves tonight at Wrigley.  After getting dominated by Chris Sale in their final game on the south side, the Cubs losing streak is at 3 with two losses courtesy of the Detroit Tigers.  Jason Hammel and Jon Lester both had terrible games and were pulled early.  How worried should Cubs fans be about the team's starting pitcher rotation coming into the home stretch of the wild card race?
