More than 500 people gathered at Saints Peter and Paul Church on Main Street Saturday morning to pay their respects to Jamey Rodemeyer. The 14-year-old Williamsville North High School freshman took his own life earlier this week.  His parents and friends say he was the target of bullying both at school and online. -1ST HOUR Even after his death, 14-year-old New Yorker Jamey Rodemeyer (pictured) is still being taunted by bully kids at his school. In an interview with The Today Show, Jamey’s parents spoke of the horror they endured when their daughter had to listen to further taunts about her late brother at her homecoming dance last week.“She was having a great time, and all of a sudden a Lady Gaga song came on, and they all started chanting for Jamey, all of his friends,” said mother Tracey Rodemeyer of the incident to reporter Ann Curry.“Then the bullies that put him into this situation started chanting, ‘You’re better off dead!’ and ‘We’re glad you’re dead!’ and things like that.“My daughter came home all upset. It was supposed to be a time for her to grieve and have fun with her friends, and it turned into bullying even after he’s gone.”Jamey’s father Tim Rodemeyer added: “I can’t grasp it in my mind. I don’t know why anyone would do that. They have no heart, that’s basically what it comes down to.”On the weekend Lady Gaga dedicated a performance of her song Hair to Jamey at the I Heart Radio festival, announcing ‘We lost a little monstePushed to the edge by Jamey’s story, the singer then met withObama this week when she crashed a presidential fundraiser in California. It was reported that after she first thanked Obama for all his work on anti-bullying, the singer and equal rights activist then ‘pleaded’ with the President to do whatever it takes to prevent bullying, even making it illegal as a ‘hate crime’.The President reportedly responded by thanking Gaga, and went on to talk about his administration’s devotion to finding a solution to the bullying epidemic.

NYPD Abusing Power - Teen Suicide & Bullies - WTF?

    in Women

I'll be talking about recent suicides among bullied teenagers. I want these bullied kids, lgbt, straight, or any combo, to have all the verbal ammunition they can get, all the tangible help from mentors, all the belief in themselves to stay strong, ALIVE, and become all they were meant to be.

We will never know if Jamey Rodemeyer would have found cures for all cancers, or muscular dystrophies, or other horrible diseases, or become a member of congress – house or senate – and would cast the vote that would give us Medicare for All.

Also - speaking of bullying - the NYPD deserves more than coal in their stocking for last weekend's abuse of power. I called them to lodge a complaint - and you can, too!

I'll cover these hot topics and more on today's show.

I hope you will join me.
