DRAMA GAME is a fascinating new look at the play called life that we are enacting on the stage called earth. Matt and Shawn took their first road trip as a management team last weekend. Well... sort of. One of the guys made it and one didn't! On this week's show they tell the tail, and also about a random trip to Atlanta. They also revisit some of the teasers from last week!
And this week's featured artist is Juston Stens. After playing drums for six years in the popular indie-rock band Dr. Dog, Stens set out on his own to front his own band, the Get Real Gang, and play his own songs. A self-taught guitar player, bassist, piano player, drummer and singer, Stens challenged himself by traveling across America on a motorcyle to connect with musician friends across the country and record songs in their personal spaces. The journey was documented in the recent film by Andrew Stubbs, I Lay Where I Fall, which premiered at the Nashville Film Festival in April. The resulting musical collaborations are available now for the first time on the album, Share the Road.
Each week, Project Highway will bring a 30-minute live update from the road, all across the country, wherever they happen to be, and this week they will once again be broadcasting from two different locations. Mike Motz is still in Florida tending to family business, and Barb is holding down Project Highway, currently in North Dakota. Discussing the recent hardships PH has encountered; recent performances At JL Beers, Bistro 1100 and an upcoming private party, are bound to keep you laughing... or at least feeling sorry for them.
Brennan Platt of BYU recently co-published an article titled, "Sticking With What (Barely) Worked: A Test of Outcome Bias." The interesting part is Dr. Brennan Platt is an economics professor at BYU. With all the recent movies around "Money Ball", game theory and scientific management of sport, Brennan will be joining Stephen to talk about his findings, the trends, the limitations, and ultimately, how do you use the study to create a better team.
