Tonight we will bring you another episode of The Charleston Comedy Podcast presented by Comedy Zone Charleston! Our guest tonight is national touring comedian Monte Allen. Monte’s rapid-fire comedy is based on an outstanding ability to take everyday dull life and turn it into gut busting laughter. But hold on tight to this ride because his southern point of view and creative imagination will allow you to see life in a skewed and twisted perspective. You can also catch Monte’s new hit song “Better Places” all over the radio from coast to coast. “Better Places,” or should I say “I’ve Been Kicked Out of Better Places,” is a laugh out loud original comedy song that combines true mishaps in this crazy comedians life with a southern twang. This wild man’s show is just good original comedy that will leave you wondering if he is really that screwed up. Tune in tonight live at 10 pm! Call into the show at 347-308-8648. Join us on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 7pm on Blog Talk Radio for Black Women in Conversation with Agunda Okeyo , African Feminist and Producer of Sisters of Comedy, for a provocative conversation on laughter, women, feminism and resistance.
Why is laughter wonderful, healthy and yet so fleeting for Feminists? Great scholars, feminists and womanists--Alice Walker for example, June Jordan, Pat Parker, bell hooks, and we can’t help but think of the great Maya Angelou when she said: "My great hope is to laugh as much as I cry; to get my work done and try to love somebody and have the courage to accept the love in return."
This conversation among Black women will offer a position from which to talk about laughing, as feminists as womanists, as women of color, “as a means of breaking silence and as coinciding with the self-articulation of women on their own terms.” Activist, Writer, Producer Agunda Okeyo joins us as we talk of the difference between silencing humor and humor that breaks silence. This Wednesday, 7pm we ponder, what would it look like for humor to serve as a practice of feminist resistance?

Everyone has advice on what makes marriage work, but for some reason most people can't seem to make them work. More than half of marriages end in divorce, but what about the ones that don't? There's more than just death on the other end of that statistic, right? We have nine tips from a couple who spent 73 years together and what it took to get there!
Of course, as always, we've got the Crazy Train Report, Douche of the Day, Quiz Time, Tweets of the Day, and Headlines! Tune in!
