The Mark Riley Show with Vianney Ausseil

    in Politics

What do you get when you blend an African American political pundit with a feisty mixed-raced Brit? A daily dose of unabridged banter, loaded with insights to culture unique to Mark Riley and his partner Kim..

A typical day for this pair or opposites includes a debate about gun control in the States; a quarrel about why Americans should care about international protocol (should Michele O. have touched the Queen); and a full blown fight the end over Arsenal (him) v Spurs (her).

And they’ve got the ammo….Mark Riley has ruled New York radio waves for 33 years, with insights and a command of US stats unparalleled by peers. Kim Jack Riley has worked the publishing and new media circuit as Managing Editor of the #1 Hip Hop mag, The Source, and most recently Editorial Director for New Media at NBC.

But wait, it’s not all black and white…just when this dynamic duo reaches peak performance, they are joined by…Vianney Ausseill…a French-American know-it-all, who at the tender age of 21, is unwilling to compromise any opinions.

Together, they make media magic, with a unique perspective on global issues that can only be derived from a multicultural blend of backgrounds and perspectives.

    in Spirituality

In recent news, a mob of 28 people recently stoned a pregnant woman to death for marrying against her family’s wishes. Hundreds of schoolgirls were kidnapped and were likely sent into slave trade. A female student was gang raped inside a moving public bus. These horrific acts are not anomalies, but consistent with the ongoing mistreatment of women around this world.

Dr. Laura Riley's new book, Tell Me of Brave Women, is an  exciting contemporary novel that shares the story of three dynamic women who stand up to old traditions and fight abuse in new ways. Through escalating dangers, the three heroic women battle abuse and wage their lives for liberty and find refuge in a secret society. These stories will inspire you to battle injustice of all kinds against women.

Laura received her B.A. from UCLA, and her M.A. and PhD. degrees in clinical psychology from the University of Southern California. As a psychotherapist, lecturer and teacher, she has helped battered women become achieving women for more than three decades. Studying the status of women in eighty-nine countries, she's met survivors of violence everywhere and believes that abuse will only end when women unite against it.

We are a democracy. We need to VOTE if we are to see change. It's up to you.

A conversation with Dr. Laura Riley author of Tell Me of Brave Women

    in Lifestyle

It's long been said that behind every great man is a strong woman. Now more than ever women are stepping out in front, unafraid to show their strength and what a powerful role we play in society far beyond the home to the polls and one day soon, the Oval Office.

A mob of 28 people recently stoned a pregnant woman to death for marrying against her family’s wishes.  Hundreds of schoolgirls were kidnapped last month and were likely sent into slave trade.  A female student was gang raped inside a moving public bus. These horrific acts are not anomalies, but consistent with the ongoing mistreatment of women around this world.  What about  the mistreatment of women in the US?  Does  the media play-up American gender bias and down-play international gender brutality and subjugation?

Tell Me of Brave Women Written by retired clinical psychologist, Laura Riley, this exciting contemporary novel shares the story of three dynamic women who stand up to old traditions and fight abuse in new ways. Samara, a famous storyteller, creates Secret Sisters, an underground society that shelters battered women in the Middle East.  She’s hunted for her beliefs and stalked for her beauty. Thelma, a tough waitress in Appalachia, witnesses a beating, gets a gun, and changes Samara’s destiny forever.  Evangelina, a South American teen, is forced to be a drug lord’s sex-slave until she’s emboldened to flee to Secret Sisters. To escape, she must use a killers own tactics against him. Through escalating dangers, the three heroic women battle abuse and wage their lives for liberty.
