Rosemary Lehmberg, the district attorney of Travis County, was arrested for drunk driving and sentenced to 45 days in jail. Perry threatened the use of his line-item veto to remove the PIU’s state funding unless Ms Lehmberg stepped down. She didn't and he did. Was it an abuse of power?

June 2014, governor Rick Perry (and potential GOP 2016 presidential candidate), linked homosexuality with alcoholism. In August 2014, Perry was indicted by a grand jury for abuse of power.
