Interview with Rising Indie Artist Stax hosted by Qween$Ching

    in Hip Hop Music

Growing up with the odds totally stacked against him, Justin Rice was able to beat every obstacle he faced. Now he is changing the music industry, and for the better. Eventually taking on the name Stax, he's far beyond just another rapper, but a truth teller that millions can relate to. Abandonment, prison, and hardships only set him up for the success he is walking into now. He’s a testament to what it means to never give up. His talents are a gift to anyone who listens.

His grandparents were the ones who raised him in Detroit’s rough environment. His mother was very young, and his father was nowhere to be found for many years. So they took him under their wings. The majority of the people he was around were older, so he gained a lot of wisdom, and matured quickly. Diego also connected with music during this time. It was when he was 12 or 13 that he really found his passion. Even when he left it for the streets, he'd always make his way back to rhyming. One of Stax’s biggest regrets was not spending more time with his granddad; instead he ended up behind bars. Now he pours out all his emotions behind microphones. Raw, real, and totally relatable, he gives music his best.

He admires artists like Tupac, 50 Cent, and Young Jeezy, because from the day they came out you could feel their hunger to make it. They all had an objective to go beyond music, and build a name for themselves as businessmen too. That’s Stax’s goal as well, while taking things to uncharted territories. He respects the legends, and has his sights set on becoming one, but while adding his own spin to it. There’s no doubting that his impact will be felt for many years to come.

Interview with Rising Indie Artist JopauL hosted by Qween$Ching

    in Hip Hop Music

JopauL is a gifted songwriter, in-demand rapper, performer, and choreographer who is extremely energetic and dedicated when it comes to making fun, upbeat songs, portraying having a great time while enjoying life. Jopaul was born and raised in Staten Island, New York.
At an early age JopauL started writing poetry which he won many awards for. Realizing his talent and his love for music, he decided to put the two together “ I remember listening to a song and the rapper said “poetry in motion”, that’s when it clicked and the rest was history”
JopauL worked hard on his craft teaming up with local producers. He made a five track EP and was seeking someone to help him bring his music to the market. A lifelong friend reached out to him as they haven’t spoken in a while.” I saw my phone ringing and said to myself, this is the guy that can do it” said JopauL. While catching up on their lives JopauL expressed his passion for rapping and they set up a day to meet.
JopauL’s lifelong friend, Mel Kling III was pleasantly surprised while listening to these songs “I knew he was rapping, but thought it was more of a pastime, rather than trying to make a career out of it. I was blown away by the energy JopauL was conveying on the records and my brain immediately started going into business mode “said Mel Kling III. Being an entrepreneur, Mel Kling III told JopauL he wanted to manage him, they agreed on terms and JopauL was signed to MK3Management.

“Throughout my career I produced for many artists. LL Cool J, Brandy, Ray J, Lil Wayne, Monica, Carlos Santana to name a few. After JopauL and I recorded I knew he was a star" - Dominic Durham
