Racism and ethnic discrimination in the United States has been a major issue since the colonial era and the slave era. Legally sanctioned racism sanctioned privileges and rights for White Americans not granted to Native Americans, African Americans, Asian Americans, and Latin Americans. European Americans (particularly Anglo Americans) were privileged by law in matters of education, immigration, voting rights, citizenship, land acquisition, and criminal procedure over periods of time extending from the 17th century to the 1960s. At the time, many non-Protestant groups immigrating from Europe - particularly Jews, Irish people, Poles and Italians - suffered xenophobic exclusion and other forms of ethnicity-based discrimination in the American society.
Major racially and ethnically structured institutions included slavery, Indian Wars, Native American reservations, segregation, residential schools for Native Americans, and internment camps. Formal racial discrimination was largely banned in the mid-20th century, and came to be perceived as socially unacceptable and/or morally repugnant as well.
Racial politics remains a major phenomenon. Racism continues to be reflected in socioeconomic inequality, and has taken on more modern, indirect forms of expression, most prevalently symbolic racism. Racial stratification continues to occur in employment, housing, education, lending, and government.
is a condition in which discrimination against a dominant racial group in a society has taken place
These figures are from 10 years ago. They are far, far worse today.
10 Years After Apartheid, South Africa in a Crisis
Ten years after Apartheid (1994-2004): The Raw Facts
Here are the things you will never see in the major news media regarding post-apartheid South Africa:
# In 10 years 1+ million South Africans, mostly blacks, lost their jobs due to the ANC's creeping socialism.
# Unemployment is at a staggering 45%+ - much worse than under white rule & worse than the 30% unemployment in the USA during the Great Depression.
# 1 million whites stand to lose their jobs in the coming years to Affirmative Action programs.
# 1,450+ White commercial farmers have been murdered by black thugs and our food production is being threatened by "Land Reform".
# They say that by 2014, 30% of commercial farmland now owned by Whites will be owned by Blacks (though I think it will happen much sooner & on a much bigger scale).
# 115,000 land claims by Blacks have been processed so far - and millions of hectares of land have been handed over to them.
# There are farms in South Africa, which were prosperous when run by Whites, that were handed over to Blacks. These farms then collapsed after 2 years of black management and are now derelict.
# South Africa is the rape capital of the world... it is conservatively estimated that we have 50,000 rapes per year.
i will talk about dialogue regarding reverse racism and harrassment and sociopathy
America has advanced in many ways concerning the issue of race. Slavery was a legal institution that America must continue to recognize. Slavery was abolished in America but the issue of race never went away. The civil rights movement sought to bring a end to discrimination and equality. The movement had great success but many lives were lost. The presidency of Barack Obama is something many in this country black or white thought would never happen. Many felt racism was over with once he stepped in office. I wish that were the case but racism have gotten worse in 2014. We are seeing things happen today that we thought we got past. We seen the response to George Zimmerman and how it tore the country apart. The shooting of Mike Brown by Darren Wilson have created another divide. Police are doing clearly racist acts and when blacks speak up it's a problem. Why can't we move past racism? We have so many issues to deal with as a people yet the problems of the 1800's won't go away.
On this episode of the ::ANSWERS:: show, we discuss "Racism in the Media."
The media plays a critical role as a major institution in society. Primarily speaking, their goal is to provide the masses with definitions about who we are as a people while reinforcing our values and norms. They give us concrete examples of what happens to those who transgress these norms; and most importantly, they perpetuate certain ways of seeing the world and peoples within that world. This immeasurable amount of power to shape how we think is both a gift and most certainly a curse.
The media is arguably responsible for the negative image it portrays of people of color. Have you ever noticed how the media portrays a person of color convicted of a crime versus a white person? Well, we have and we're going to talk about it.

Websters – “Plague” – troublesome, fatal disease.
Causes: Media, Politics (Democrats mostly), Witnesses-biased and not reliable about 75% of the time, “Rednecks” of all colors and mostly Race hustlers/baiters- Al and Jessie, etc .
Normal Americans, who are in the majority, are not the problem. And we are the answer. We have to realize that we are the majority and act like it. We all must and should believe in ourselves and who we are. WE ARE NOT the sharptons and the jacksons.
What needs to be discussed is not what we know has been going on for too many years, but how to start combatting racism.
I have some thoughts on this and would like to discuss them “live’ On Sister Thunder Radio.
Racism is real. We can look the other way. We can pray for change. We can try not to talk it up too much. That's how we can all get by. But what if we want to do a little more in our lifetime? What if we want to leave a slightly better world for our children? What if we just want to live in a better world for ourselves and our own quality of life? What if we just want to LIVE?
We're going to address this topic from a historical point of view, a present day point of view and lastly - a future point of view. I promise you it's going to be a really good show.
Make sure you show up and the chat room is going to be HOT!
