End Times -- Are we in them now?

    in Fun

World events have put everyone on edge.  Some say that we are in the end times as foretold in the Bible.  Global economies are in deep trouble.  The environment is on the verge of collapse.  Militant terrorists are rising up everywhere.  Earthquates, floods, pestilence, war.  Are these the harbingers of the end or has the human race always suffered from these things?   How do we sort fact from fiction? Join Ken and Beth as they attempt to wade through the muck to find the truth.  Call in (347) 215-9971, 9:30 PM PST Thursday 2/11/2016.

    THE REVELATION

    in The Bible

FOR THE LORD GOD/SPIRIT OMNIPOTENT REIGNETH.. Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honor to him: for the marriage of the lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready, and to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen is the righteousness of saints.  And he said unto me, write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb.  And he saith unto me, These are the true saying of GOD. And I fell down at his feet to wprship him. And he said unto me, see thou do it not:  I am thy fellowservant, and of they brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: Worship GOD; for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

The Judas Effect: Betraying Jesus for Money, Fame & Power

    in Christianity

Judas Iscariot betrayed Jesus Christ for 30 pieces of silver.

He may have "loved" Jesus (at least, he loved the Jesus that he ministered alongside healing the sick and feeding the poor), but Judas also loved money (John 12:6) and being in a position of power (Mark 14:43-45).

This would make him hate the Jesus that called out the Pharisees (Matthew 23), drove out the money changers in the temple (John 2), and told rich people that it was humanly impossible for the them to enter Heaven (Mark 10:25).

Today, many megachurch pastors betray Jesus for fame and fortune. They love the Jesus that loves the world (John 3:16), but they hate the Jesus that calls out false teachers (Matthew 24:24), values ministry above merchandise (Luke 14:33), and despises the things the world esteems (Luke 16:15).

Many political candidates betray Jesus for power and money. They love the Jesus that supported taxes (Mark 12:17), but hate the Jesus who said “let your statement be ‘yes’ or ‘no’; anything beyond these is of evil.” (Matthew 5:37).

They hate the Jesus who defined success as being last, not first (Mark 10:31), and who did not seek the approval of others (John 5:41-44).

In the end, what’s the difference between 30 pieces of silver and…a 30,000 “member” church?

Or 30 million copies of a self-help book?
    Or a 30% poll rating?
    Or 30 million votes?

The Doctrine Of Devils, The Hypocrisy

    in Christianity

                                               1 Timothy 16

The word is not in the original text of the Bible but was late put in the scriptures do to the corrupt belief of the Roman's, who had total power to do as they please. I know some of you are going to say, this is not true!, well let's take a look at the word it self; Demon-english, Daimon-greek, the root of daimon is daio which means to distribute fortunes or destiny. There are two more words used in the Bible to explain demon but they are from the latin tongue, so you know the Bible was not written in latin. 1 Timothy 7 Be careful research your words as so with fables, which the Bibles warnes us against several times in the Bible but we ignore this warning.

AgriFest, Scouting, Valentine's Day Jump Up, and Other Traditions in the USVI

    in Culture

Every February, St. Croix hosts the largest agricultural festival in the Territory. The St. Croix Agricultural Fair, or AgriFest, is a colorful display of locally produced agricultural products, livestock, arts & crafts, & native cuisine. Taking place over 3 days, festival goers can taste, touch, & see everything to do with St. Croix agriculture.

The Boy Scouts of America in the USVI was served in the early 20th Century through National Council Direct Service. Then the troops later were added as the Virgin Island District in the Puerto Rico-Virgin Islands Council. During the late 1960s & early 1970s, Troop 152, sponsored by Saint Patrick's Church, Frederiksted, Saint Croix, formed a steel band of grammar-school-age Scouts that was managed by Vivian Bennerson. The band toured internationally.

The Scout Association of the British Virgin Islands operates as a branch of the United Kingdom Scout Association, as the British Virgin Islands' affiliation as a British Overseas Territory. The BVI Scout Oath and Law, & other Scouting requirements, closely follow that of the United Kingdom.

Jump Up, held 4 times yearly, is a "carnival like" cultural party held in the streets & along the boardwalk of Christiansted. Sponsored by the CRRA (Christiansted Restaurant & Retail Association), it has become one of the islands' favorite social events for both locals & visitors alike.

Friends of Virgin Islands National Park and the National Park Service will partner to present the Annual Folk Life Festival in celebration of Black History Month in February on St. John.
